Sprint/Philly Questions???

Hey All,

I'm currently on VZW, using a GSIII (which I'm pretty satisfied with). from the forums, it sounds like the N2 (on VZW) has somewhat better reception (primarily for data). I have an option to switch to a carrier on the Sprint Network - and grab a N2.

My biggest reason for considering the switch is to be able to get solid data coverage inside in NorthEast Philly. My SIII is all over the place - very occasional 4G, somewhat spotty 3G, but - primarily 1x, or no signal.

What can I expect from Sprint?

Not much. A Note 2 on Sprint may give you the same results you're currently getting with the SIII.

I'm on Sprint and it's my understanding that LTE is coming soon; just don't know when most of Philly will be blanketed with it. Last rumor/speculation I heard was end of Dec '12. My data speeds (3G) are atrocious but I'm fortunate to be on wifi 99.9% of the time.

There hasn't been much added to this thread Network Vision/LTE - Philadelphia Metro Market but keep an eye on it. If data is your primary concern I'd stick with Verizon for now and get the Note 2 with them. If you decide to make the switch to Sprint do so knowing LTE is in the works.

I'd love to hear what others in the Northeast are experiencing.
Northeast for me is Grant/Red Lion if that helps.

NorthEast for me is Red Lion and Bustleton Ave

I picked up my Note2 with Sprint last week and was informed that unofficially, LTE will be hitting Philly by the end of the year. I've been dealing with the guy who told me this for about 10 years now, and I have a tendency to believe him...

It's already hit. Can't remember if it was the Art Museum, Kelly or Lincoln Drive in which I read several post that people were getting LTE. Only reason I remember this is because it had me feeling wow..... so close but not close enough.
