Sprint Premier Ends. Changes here.

I don't necessarily like it but I understand why they are lowering the return window. Too many people playing musical chairs with their devices on day 30. I cannot tell you how many times I have read on here about people having 3 devices in 3 months simply because something better came along that they wanted.

I think you're right... Its always a shame when a "few" can ruin such a good thing for the whole group.

Question about the exchange policy changing from 30 to 14 days.

I just recently switched to Sprint and bought a MoPho. Tomorrow, when the GS II comes out, I will be at 13 days. Will I still get the full 30 days since I signed up previous to the policy change? Was hoping to wait a week or two to see if there are any glaring issues before switching.

Funny, I checked out VZW, AT&T and TMO and I can tell you that for my five lines to have unlimited everything and 1500 shared minutes with absolutely no data caps it would cost me waaay more than the $227.00 a month I pay with Sprint. Also, check out the forums for the other carriers. A lot of unhappy campers. Really, if the service is equal, and for me it is, Sprint is still the best deal out there. Like I said before, if they move to tiered data or caps then I will consider switching. For now, I stay with Sprint.

Are you having problems with your MoPho or are you just trying to hold out for the SGS2?

Ok, I have two lines that are eligible for a 1 year upgrade now. My third line (mine) is eligible 11/1. My plan was to upgrade my husbands and my phones to the iPhone when/if it comes out in Oct/Nov. So, if I don't use my two 1 year upgrades by 10/1 I loose them? And I'm screwed on the 11/1 upgrade all together?

If you are eligible now you are ok. The Premier changes go in effect in 2013. I should say you have to use your upgrade by 12/31/2012 based on what I have read.

Have had some issues in the 2 weeks I've had the phone. The major one being the "Sleep of Death" that it seems like most MoPho users have experienced at least a few times. Basically the phone shuts itself off and cannot be powered on again until you pull the battery.

Another was the dead/muted headset/receiver when trying to take/make calls (that's a lot of "/"s!) This was apparently fixed by a new system update that was made available a few days ago, but I have since experienced the issue again.

Overall I'm happy w/ the MoPho, but that is mainly because of the difference between that and my previous phone (LG Ally). I know Samsung has a terrible mobile support track record, which is why I was hoping to wait until the SG II was out for a week or two before making my final decision.

Oh well. I guess, if I decide to take advantage of the Buy Back program, it'll definitely be worth it now!...ROFLMAO.

Sorry, should have been more specific. I'm only Silver Premier. I don't think we get till 2012.

Do you really think they care. They are getting the iPhone and feel they can be Jerks now. The Retentions Manager TOLD me he just got the email within the last 30 minutes. It's happening. The Raping is coming. When it does come don't act surprised.

Yep, and next is no more unlimited data. Its coming, we all know it is.

after this settles in, id call and double check. You may only have until the end of THIS year (12/31/11). just be careful... you dont want 3 upgrades to go to waste.

I am Silver. If Silvers are automatically enrolled in the "New for you" does that mean I will get my 22 month upgrade in 20 months?

This announcement in combination with the fact that I still have NO WiMax coverage in my area after over a year (and probably wont get coverage anytime in the future) is making me regret staying with Sprint. The premier program was one of the only reasons I stayed with Sprint. I may just pay my ETF & get a HTC Vigor as a Christmas gift to myself. At least then I'll have 4G coverage with Verizon. :(

I do get where you're coming from. Do you have decent 3G? Not trying to change your mind but I have noticed marked improvement in both 3 and 4G in my area. They're definitely doing the Vision rollout. Also, there are issues with LTE and coverage isn't that widespread. Of course you need to do what is best for you and your situation. I have a friend who works for Verizon who has been trying to get me to switch forever but she just can't get the numbers right for my five lines, even with my Government discount.

If I keep getting this at my house then I'm cool. :D

I got these numbers when I did a speedtest a couple of days ago.

Test Date: Sep 14, 2011 9:14:39 pm
Connection Type: EvdoA
Server: Toronto, ON
Download: 321 kbps
Upload: 147 kbps
Ping: 447 ms

Lol not cool. Oh yeah I had an Evo 4G on 3G at the time.

I'm pretty disappointed about these changes...I was set to become premier Gold (from 10 year status) next summer :(

I can't get 4G in my house unfortunately....and I can get from 0-1 bars just outside. I did do a few speed tests while coming home from work.

The top 4 are 4G tests while 5 and 6 were on my home wifi (hence the wifi image to the left of them). The 9.02 download was while stopped at a stoplight with a direct line of sight to a 4G tower...the next test (4.78) was as I was driving away from the tower and going over a hill. I reallllllllly wish I lived in one of the houses near where I got that 9mbs download :(

Well my husband and dad will be happy about this change.

I sure as hell am not. The only perk I really used was the annual upgrade. I've been with Sprint 11 years now and this really annoys me to constantly have the perks I got taken away. I know I didn't have them in the first place, but poor customer service IMO.

I get the 30 day return thing though. Way too many people abuse that to try to one up every month on the new phones.

Are you a phone junkie like me?! My husband groans every time I get a new one. I always swear I'm not going to root and well, I have lost two bets now and have had to treat him to Red Lobster ;)

I will sorely miss my yearly upgrade. Now I've got to wait 20 months instead of 12 to upgrade =(

Like I said before, this was the biggest incentive for me to stay with Sprint when I re-signed in July. =(

Look on the bright side. This change won't really affect you until 2013, when your upgrade will get pushed back from July of that year (assuming you use your last upgrade in July 2012) to March 2014.

Cheer up Arma. At least you have an EVO 3D, one more upgrade, and you have us! :D

im not going to miss anything. i remember when smartphones (as opposed to dumb phones at the time) used to come out once every 2 years or so on Sprint (my 13th year btw). there was usually one major smartphone.. you cats are spoiled with wanting a handset every 12 months. :p

now i get a new handset each year too mind you.. :) im jus' sayin' i am not going to miss it. ill gladly pay full price for a handset i like if its between upgrades...
