Sprint Release Date & Pricing?

That actually looks like a very nice device. The keyboard is nice & centered, which is a big deal for me. This phone seems better & better as more information about it emerges.

That's just somebodies rendering, not the real phone

We're just going to have to wait 8 more days till hopefully Samsung announces its plans, unless something else is leaked early.

That image is old and the most up to date information are the leaked photos of the rumored Pro and rumored Moment 2. Apparently there's also Acclaim going to US Cellular Samsung Acclaim arrives in US Cellular stores July 9, we're sure somebody will care -- Engadget

While I will never WANT a price increase, if it is necessary for Sprint to stay afloat, bring it. After discounts I pay $82 a month (before taxes) on two lines with unlimited (essentially) everything. If they raise their fees $20 per line, it would still be a lot cheaper than the competition.

People are bitching because they're cheap. Sure Sprint could have handled it better, but oh well...get over it. Everyone seems to want Sprint to be a top tier wireless company by offering the best plans, best prices, and best phones. It's debatable, but I'd say they have all of that now - even with the price increase. Do not bitch about being on the winning team just because there is now a slightly less margin of victory.

No people are bitching cause they want the phone but have to pay 10bucks and cant use 4g. 4g is nowhere in California! And the way Sprint says the 10 bucks isn't for 4g but for the phone it self because it offers premium usage based on its specs. So either we have to pay for 4g we cant use or we have to pay a 10$ equipment rental charge like its a cable box or some shit.

Either way the 10buck charge isn't justified in my mind! Justify why i'm paying it and allow me to use the features and i will have no problem paying for it! but don't give no shit about Sprint finally having a front running phone after all these dreadful phone years and now you want to charge extra for it crap!

I would pay a little more for better service, but $10 more for a cooler phone is dumb. Didn't we/you already pay an arm and a leg for the super cool phone??

That is a ridiculous excuse. And if they continue to add on silly charges, I will gladly switch to Verizon!

I think I'll definitely have to see & examine this phone in person at a Sprint store when they release it, before blindly purchasing it. I can't believe it doesn't have standard notification LED's. Those are on pretty much all android devices, aren't they?

There are no notifications? The regular Galaxy S doesn't have them?

Edit: Well, I just read a thread in the Galaxy S forums that confirms there are no notification LEDs. It sounded like the best solution was to use an application that flashed the screen as a replacement.

I guess that shouldn't be too much a problem. It's a notification, just a different way of notifying. Like I said, I'm already interested. I haven't heard anything new about this device, besides what's already known. Anyone else have a news tidbits?

That is a ridiculous excuse. And if they continue to add on silly charges, I will gladly switch to Verizon which costs more to begin with so I am spending more money each month which is kind of a silly to way to avoid a bigger Sprint bill!

Fixed that for you. $10 please.

That's kind of what I meant. I am only keeping Sprint because it's cheaper. If they keep jacking the price up, there'll be no reason for me NOT to go to Verizon. :)

whats gonna end up happening is Sprint will now have phones for the first time that can compete with the other wireless company's phones like Verizon so now there is no reason for them to have cheap plans. Cheap plans was all they had to go on, now that they have high end phones they probably feel they can charge what everyone else charges!

I disagree. Time will tell. Sprint still needs to turn around that big as boat and start adding subs, and if they don't fix the flagship evo issues quick, it'll be another blow into a good company.

They can charge what Verizon charges when they provide the quality of service Verizon does. The only thing Sprint has on them right now (besides price) is customer service.

Only 3 more days till the event. I hope they reveal the Pro with all the right features.

If Samsung wants to double their market share, they're going to have to make really cool phones and support them. The Galaxy S is almost there, and the rumored Pro is even more so. From the supposed features the only thing I can think of that's missing is a notification LED, but that assumes those specs are all correct, ie unlike some regular S versions it has a flash and a front facing camera etc.

Yep. By a lot.

Looking at it again now, it's only $10/mo more for Verizon for the plan I have.

Sprint is $69.99 plus this new $10 thing = $79.99/mo
Verizon is $59.99 plus $29.99 unlimited data plan = $89.98

Looking at this now, I may just switch. For some reason, I had it in my head that Verizon was $30 more. My Sprint contract is up in March.

Sprint $59.99 with EPRP plan, + $10.00 is $69.99.

Family plans are even more on savings by a lot. I am saving $50-60 a month if I go to Sprint vs Verizon for two EVOs instead of two Droids.

Also Verizons doesn't include unlimited Text, Unlimited Anytime Mobile to Mobile on any network, unlimited Data. Sprints includes all of that for that low price. Verizon will be adding caps soon.

Talk and Text includes unlimited text and data, and no charge for calls to/from other Verizon customers. Free nights and weekends. That's for the lowest level. For the higher levels, it also includes 5 for individual or 10 for family "friends and family" numbers that are unlimited. No, it's not as wide open as Sprint's plan, but it most certain IS unlimited text and data (if you buy the unlimited data plan which is required for smartphones). That's the $30 charge I posted above.

Just to clarify. :)

What is EPRP?

The $59.99 Talk and Text does not include unlimited DATA. That is another option you must add for $29.99 on Verizon. And that only includes unlimited calls to other Verizon customers, free nights starting at 9pm, and weekends.

For the $59.99 from Sprint with EPRP, it includes more minutes, unlimited anytime mobile to mobile on any provider voice minutes, unlimited data, unlimited text, nights starting at 7pm, and weekends. Sprint has Verizon beat period by a long shot.

Then it's $20 cheaper with the EPRP. Thanks so much for that link. I have both a credit union account and an AOL account. I just tried to call and their office is closed. I will call again tomorrow or Monday. I can apply this discount without having to terminate my account and start over..

Thanks again!!
