Root [Sprint] [resolved]Sprint customer service issues & Root issues

One more, you can use the toolkit to root it is fast painless and does all the work. Glad your back in action, I will mark this thread as solve, cheers

It worked It worked It worked It worked It worked It worked It worked It worked! You have no idea how happy I am right now!

So now I'm unrooted and back in the stock ROM. I'm going to update my profile/prl/system/firmware then root later on tonight and probably flash the Jelly Bomb ROM

I promise to do a back up and save it at home on my computer. No actually I'm going to email the file to myself! Never loose it then.

Thank you so much for all the hand holding! I probably should have checked the MD5 of the WHOOMP ROM back in April. I bet that was screwy and caused everything to go bad.

Wahoo! I am rooted and Jelly Bombed. I read a rumor that LTE is rolling out in Wilmington, so I think that's the cause of my phone not switching towers correctly. But I'm fully activated, rocking and rolling now. Thanks everyone! Very glad to have my perfect phone back

What happened with the phone you purchased on eBay, did you keep it or send it back ??

Well that's a bit of a convoluted story.

The person still had his Sprint account active. He called to cancel yesterday morning before he mailed out the phone and Sprint advised that he couldn't cancel until the end of his billing cycle. Sprint then advised him that I would still be able to activate the phone onto my account prior to his cancel/bill close date if I just went into the store and had them activate it for me.

That sounded a bit off so the seller asked me to call Sprint on my end to see what I was told. I was advised that the phone could not be activated until the close of his bill in mid June.

So I got a refund and the seller is relisting it for when his account is actually closed.

Sprint never makes anything easy for you! LOL But in the end I did save myself $500.

Oh I like drinks! :) Honestly the BF probably would have upgrade to the Note 2 and we would have kept his SG3 as a backup phone.. but saving the $500 sure doesn't make me sad! Not like I had that to really spare.

Yeppers more drinks for all of us now, lol :D

I also thought about Jellybomb, just can't deal with all the single color themes, if he made a stock theme one I would be tempted.

Also as mentioned, Whomp has been really goo do me ;)

I used Jellybomb a while ago before Whomp and the color eventually drove me nuts. I'm trying again and using the Steezc Theme that they put out. It's a mixture of green and purple. It's a little kinder on the eyes than that horrible blue. So far it hasn't irritated me yet. Time will tell.... :)

I'm using Whomp right now; installed yesterday--not sure yet how I feel about it. I keep reading all these post about incredible battery life yet mine is dropping like a stone.

That is weird, not having that issue here, might take a bit of time, also might depend on what apps are running in the back ground, but I am sure you know that. I had mine off the chargers yesterday at 6 am and used it fairly all day and night, kept watching my Heat scores on it all night, and this morning when I got up at 6 am it was 36%, I just now 7:30 am put it on the charger. ;)

Maybe you need to wipe and reflash the ROM? Battery life was pretty good for me while I was using it

Funny, looking back at this thread, this same thing happened to me a few days ago on Whomp, I was flashing a few Roms testing things out and then when I restored back to Whomp, I was getting the handsfree activation LOL. I was able to flash any Roms though, and always Nandroid back to Whomp, but everytime I would reboot the phone the HF activation comes back on, and of course it would not allow me to update the Profile, yet it allows to update the PRL. Anyways when I can flash to any other Rom with no issues. No biggie phone works fine, and I still have my Stock Rooted Rom if i need it, but thought it was funny I was working with you on this issue and now I got it, LOL. ;)

I also called customer service last night for the heck of it as I knew I would get someone from another country, just to see what they would do or say and of course they were clueless, LOL :D

To fix it I just went back to Jellybomb :) A few weeks ago I switched to T-mobile and am going through Jelly Bomb withdraw. Haven't rooted this new phone yet...

Yep, same for me, only happens on the Whomp Rom now, LOL

Wow you left Sprint and went to Verizon, which means you have to change your phone also :o I assume you got another NII

To T-mobile (the coverage is insane compared to what I was dealing with on Sprint!) I absolutely got another Note 2! :) I'm in love with it all over again now that my network is 4GLTE lightening fast
