Were you on MK4 and simply flashed this, or did you have to upgrade to MK4 first then flash the Synergy Rom ?? Reason why I asked is I assume you have to upgrade first, so I am sure others will ask how you did so, so you may want to post your process for others. ;)

On another note Synergy has always been a reliable Rom, nice to see him update it to the MK4 base.

Well I was on stock 4.1.2, which I updated thru Kies to 4.3, rooted with Kango, installed TWRP recovery and then installed the rom.

Note on root method : Beings that there has been a lot of talk about the root software, I did run 3 different antimalware apps to make sure it was clean, which it was.

This also worked with Dilburs rom, you just need to make sure your on MC2 when you update it on Kies or it wont work. Then root and then recovery.

Edit: Also tried installing the Perseus kernel which locked up the phone lol
:)

FTR, some have simply flashed right over 4.1 and have had no issues, so I guess we will see the long term effects, LOL

Yep I used a leaked manual update and it worked but I wanted a fresh rom for testing lol......;)

So far 4.3 is pretty cool, gave the Note 2 a lot more options :)

Any major differences ?? anything worth switching too. ??

The main thing I noticed right away was signal and sound quality.

I'm assuming the MK4 gets better reception as I went from a 1-3 signal to a 3-5 on 4G LTE at home.

And some people I had talked to ask if I had actually got a new or different phone cause the sound quality was a lot better.

Other than that, there are small extras in each section of the rom, it runs extremely well, stock benchmarks are around the same as ones that were overclocked on 4.1.2, so yea I would say its worth flashing to the new 4.3 :)

I've been holding off on 4.3 waiting for more options in both rom and kernel, but the process has been surprisingly slow. I don't know if it's because most dev's have left this model behind or if many are not interested in working 4.3 with 4.4 coming so close on its heels? My phone has been so rock solid stable on (the now long abandoned) Goodness Noteworthy, that I'm reticent to fix what ain't broke. Still, I think it's time I flashed this puppy...tonight!

Your assumptions are correct, most have moved on already

As we always say Nandroid is your best friend, but if you want you can simply flash the MK4 Modem which many have done and really like it, if you don't want to go though the whole process for now and wait to see if there are any new updates coming from other devs.

MK4 Modem

If you do update to this ROM, report back and let us know how you like it, cheers

Hmm well like you sir my 4.1.2(Dilibur Rom) was like you said rock solid but after thinking about it, I thought what the heck lol I can always flash back if I didn't like it, so I did and I love it, a smoother OS, a few new goodies, benchmarks are better than 4.1.2 but as Don knows I cant resist a new rom just to check it out lol....;):p:D

Flashed yesterday. Had a few issues with TiBU hanging and I found that the latest inverted Google Now is not compatible with this rom. A little more of a pain in neck than I'm used to these days with having to use Odin for the wifi fix and manually installing the inverted gapps I prefer. I haven't used it heavily yet but coming from a themed and heavily modded rom I do see differences. The settings menu structure has changed from vertical to tabbed horizontal and I do miss my super circle battery meter. As for speed or "smoothness"? Can't see any difference. I will have to travel a bit more to see if the new modem makes any real signal strength improvements as others have mentioned. As of right now, I get the feeling I did a bit of work for little or no gain. I'll give it a week, but unless there's something here I've yet to find that makes a difference, I'll probably go back to my old Goodness Noteworthy or hopefully a new 4.3 rom with features comparable to Goodness Noteworthy.

Thus the reason why I did not upgrade, I still prefer 4.1.2 and have no issues with it currently, I did flash the MK4 Modem a few days ago and have not seen any difference, but I will give it a few days to test in areas I know my coverage is bad and see from there, but for now I am staying with MackRom. ;)

Arghhh! Just realized that many of my contacts aren't here and there's a sync error for the 2 google accounts that have more than 100 contacts. I tried flashing the contact fix again, but no go. When looking at the accounts page and trying to get it to sync, I get an android.process.acore has stopped error too. I may play a bit with it tonight, but my guess is it will be but a nandroid BU before long. Bring the Goodness back...or I might give Macks a try while I'm at it.

Give MackRom a shot, you will like it, Doc also like Digiblurs Rom also alot. Keep us posted.

I guess I don't understand, I haven't had 1 issue with this rom at all, none, no wifi issues, contacts, laggyness or battery life. So im guessing im missing something here lol. :smokingsomb:

And yes Dilibur in my opinion is the best 4.1.2 out there as its a stripped down stock version, if you want to add exchange mail you will need to add the apk pack in the rom before you install. Let us know sir....:D

Flashed my Goodness nandroid BU and I'm back. Nandroids a beautiful thing! I'm sure I could have worked out the small issues with this ROM, but it didn't offer much noticeable improvement and in many ways was a step back. Newer doesn't always mean better. Hopefully, the pace of development will increase and there will be a 4.3 base rom in my future. Because right now, I don't see any reason to upgrade this hardware for another year or more.

Doc, are you still on this Rom, and if yes any issues ?? I may try something different, been having issues with text being repeated, BT sound is bad where others still say they hear me gargled at times.

Yes sir I am, I haven't had any issues, also you might want to try this: [Rom]Team Venum - STS - Tweaked Stock - MA7/MK4 12/18 - xda-developers

Been testing it this weekend and seems to run very well also.....;)

Been running like a chicken without a head over the holidays, crazy down here, can this be flashed, or is this also a full process of have to convert and reroot again ?? Trying to do this quick, otherwise will have to wait until after the holidays and work has been really hectic. I do have the MK4 Modem right now, if I can simply flash with no WiFi issue, then I will give it a shot later today.

Edit:, just saw this, NOTE: if upgrading from previous firmware (MA7/MC2 etc) for first time, Odin Wifi fix and Flash MK4 Modem (Modem not required but probably recommended). They can be found in Lorjays thread. Thx Lorjay and Dr. Ketan

Hmm I didn't have to flash the wifi or modem, just wiped and installed with no issues, wifi works fine along with MK4 modem but again that's just me tho sir lol.....:)

I would suggest to try Team Venum - STS - Tweaked Stock - MA7/MK4 also, it seems to be a little smoother and less bloated.....

Also that could be because you rebooted when you converted with the MK4 so that might be the reason.

I remember one of roms u also had issues with BT and you made some tweaks

I will try it worst case I can always flash back if I have wifi issues ;)
