Root [Sprint] Rooting VPUBNCS build?

Galane

Newbie
My sister has a Sprint Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4.2 build KOY49H.L720TVPUBNC6 Hardware version L720T.03 (Typo in the subject, sorry.)

Kernel version 3.4.0-492378 dpi@SWDD5921 #1 Wed Mar 26 20:16:07 KST 2014

I've been searching but have only found roots and other hacks and mods for other builds.

All I want to do is fix the WiFi tether so FoxFi will work on it.

I already used CF Root on it, then I disabled Knox by first force stopping all the parts of Knox then launched SuperSU which disabled Knox.

It couldn't disable it until it used force quit, it would just sit there forever on disabling.

I'm sorry I was not fast enough.. your Knox bootloader is now tripped and your warranty void.. :'( there is no fix and no way to un-trip the bootloader. Trying to go back to any bootloader other than 4.4.2 will brick your device...

Good news is if your like me.. you wouldn't care. Just be very careful as to what you flash and ALWAYS have a backup in CWM/TWRP. and a Odin would be prudent. ;)

No worries about the warranty. My sister has yet to damage a cellphone, nor have I.

Worst is my Photon Q a couple of days ago managed to escape its belt holster and land flat on its back on concrete. Scuffed a corner dagnabit.

When the old WiFi Tether wouldn't work on it, I gave up on finding an unlock hack and used Moto's warranty breaking online unlock, then used Motochopper to root it. WiFi Tether still wouldn't work so I paid the $7.95 for FoxFi. Works great.

POed that it doesn't work on the S4. Sprint's getting too much like Verizon, though I do like the unlimited data business account.

Anyway, enough on this thread. The phone is rooted (yay) and now there's stuff that may turn up easier in searches for people looking to root the NC6 build.
