Here is my phones information:
Model: SPH-D700
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband: S: D700.0.55.DI18
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build: SPH-D700 ECLAIR.DI18
Hardware: D700.0.5
When I try and do a system update (even at a location where I get a full 6 bars) it always tells me "No software update is available at this time. Your current software is up to date". I know I don't have the latest firmware, so what is the problem?
I've tried powering down and removing the battery for 30 seconds and still did not update, and I also tried using an application called CheckSamsungFW to force it but that didn't work either returning an error saying "Your version cannot be upgraded by Kies, may be with Odin..."
I did a bit of googling and saw where people were having to return their phones for another, which I hope is not the case because I did not get warranty or insurance on this. Does anyone have any helpful insight? Thanks.
