Sprint systems slow/down?

Went to my BB at 9:15 this am there where 4 people in front of me i had the 9:30 appointment and of course they told me that there computer where acting slow, about the time i finally got to sit down was around 10:00 am and waited, got the phone in hand around 1100am.

On the way to BB drove by the Sprint store there where no lines, outside there store was a small tent and some yellow and white ballons. The time i got home around 11:30 had my breakfast(late) phone will still not activated, i powered it down and power it up and it work.

Now i could'nt get my contact to sync from the Instinct to the EVO so i went to the Sprint store and they have a niffty little machine that does the sync that took less than 10min. Looking around the Sprint store they had boxes of donuts and bottle water, i also asked if they had lines, which he replied no,they have plenty of EVO's, they were'nt busy at all. But when i left there around 1pm more cars where pulling into the Sprint store. Well my EVO is down to one bar.

Oh yeah even the guy at the Sprint store said there computers where slow as well,.

my RS ended up having to call sprint and get it activated.

That's exactly what I had the guy at my RS do.
He tried to use their web system and after 10 minutes I told him to call CS and do it over the phone. 10 minutes later, I'm out the door with my EVO.

I got my Evo about an hour ago and still waiting for it to connect. Boooo! However, I'm really glad I got rid of my Samsung Moment for the Evo. :)

Mines up and running on my own account now, works great and i still have a upgrade on my account in dec now.

It's actually freakin amazing how Sprint's hyping up the June 4th date and what do you know? most people can't even get one because the system's clogged through various stores. Go figure. Talk about frustrated!

well im glad you guys have a forum to vent your frustrations out.. because all this venting will not speed up the issues with the activation process... and you guys are wondering where all the advertising is?? well just imagine how it would have been today if sprint had advertised to the satisfaction of the members here.. can you imagine how worse things could have been?

what sprint did was do whats called a "soft launch". the geeks/early adopters were sure to pick up this device on launch. next week when the pit hits the shan, more and more folks will probably go purchase... next friday is pay day for some..

also you have folks ordering online... so its slow for most of us but could have been worse. 4g is new, the phone is new, its new to the reps... people porting numbers, etc etc... just give it time folks...

the manager who was working on my setup kept getting the server 500 error (i was right there looking) and it took him two different computers to get me going. all was fine until he could not print out the contract so he had to manually fill in all the blanks... THAT took time.. but i was patient and kept cool... and now the evo is on the floor taking a nap... :D

Anyway, I had the same experience. Had 9:30 appt. at RS and still standing there at 11:00. I live on the west side of Houston near Katy and the RS shack was basically empty of customers so they tried desperately to get the phone activated. I had to leave to go back to work but they promised me they would work on it steadily. I finished up my work quickly and by the time I was finished they called to let me know the phone was going to work and to worn me my current phones was going to go dead. I was fine with that and by the time I got back to the store at 1:00 pm I was the only person they managed to get into the system and activated. I hope things got better in the afternoon.

The phone is pretty cool.
