I must say, the Sprint employees are not too nice at all, or informative. I'm going on past releases from other carriers like Verizon and At&t. Almost like your bothering them over there at Sprint. And I know it gets annoying getting asked the same questions over and over again, but hey, that's your job so get over it!

I agree their retail stores suck, but there over the phone reps are good in my experiences. :D

Which store in Austin are you going to? I'm planning on getting mine at the store at 290 and Mopac. The wife and I were planning on trying to get there around 6:30 but not sure if that's early enough, too early, or what.

I was gonna stop by after work tonight to try and discuss with the store manager. See if he'll tell me how many they have, and try to get my hands on a demo unit.

I talked to one local store here that has 40 and they said they will not be opening early (odd, huh?). The other store wouldn't disclose how many they have, but I imagine 40-50. I plan on showing up at 0530. Is it REALLY early? Yep, but I don't want to take any chances. I can occupy myself for 2.5 hours.

So you're telling me that 12 stores sold 75k units, which averages out to 6250 PER STORE? I find that hard to believe, no offense though. The pre-order started what? Two weeks ago? So you're telling me that they sold over 400 PER DAY on average? I just don't see that happening.

It's $299 + TAX - $100 MIR. Based on the 8% NY sales tax, I would be paying an additional $6.92 if I bought the EVO from the Sprint store.
 
Just went and talked to the Sprint store closest to my work. They anticipate selling out VERY early on. The guy told me he couldn't say how many units they got but it "wasn't many".

Now I'm worried. I can't go stand in line. I have to start work at 7. I was just going to take a break at 8 and go pick one up. :(
 
Called my sprint again here. 199 no rebate, must be adjusting it to RS and BB. He said they open at 8 should be sold out by 1030 based on palm pre sales. I cant get there till 9. I hope ill get one.

Is this a corporate store or is it an "authorized dealer". Most of the stuff I have heard is that the corporate stores will have in the neighborhood of about 50. I will be there at 0500 ready to hook it up!

The corporate store by me said they already had 28 in and were probably getting more in later today, I'll be there at 5 as well.

Was an authorized dealer. I'm going to be stopping by the nearby corporate store when I get off work. Although I asked this employee about that store and he said they're "all in the same boat".

My problem is that I CAN'T get there at 5. Really, the earliest I can go is 7:30 - half an hour before they open. Even that is pushing it, because I really SHOULD only be gone from work for an hour.

I will be at the Sprint store at SH-45 and IH-35 by the Chuckie Cheese's. I have never camped out for a phone, but I will be at mine at 5am (ish)
 
Just got back from corporate store and bought me a gel case and hdmi cable, asked them how many phones they had for tomorrow and they said 50 but wouldn't get anymore till next week. They are expecting to sell out by 10 or 11 am because of all the pre sells at BB and RS and they we're told there will be no extra phones to sell to walk-ins at those places. I'm getting there at 5am.

EXACTLY. I am hearing a LOT of "we are getting more on Saturday". In the business world, Saturday shipments are RARE. Why would you not get ALL THAT YOU COULD, especially for such a small (size wise) product? There is NO incentive to hold on to stock somewhere else just to pay more to ship on the weekend. Too many people now saying 0500...might head out there now. :D
 
Ugh I'm worried that I'm not going to be getting one tomorrow.

None of the Seattle area stores are opening early enough so I have to wait until 5pm. The Union store did call me today to schedule an appt, but a guy at one of the other stores offered me a discount on my monthly bill that i can't pass up. The corporate store in Lynnwood should be getting 150 of them, which is the most by far in the area (So i've heard).

I'm not sure what Im going to do. I guess if they sell out before I get off work I will hope they get more on Saturday. I wish this phone was releasing like other sprint phones (on a sunday or so ive heard)
 
Going to be picking up mine at 8 tomorrow. the Sprint preferred retail store here is only getting in 10 he said. then he called me back and said not to eat breakfast. they are going to have coffee and donuts. I told him i was planning on bringing some in to him had he not called since he hooked me up today. .
