Help squeaky plastic?

Always

Newbie
Does anyone else's incredible squeak while being handled?

If I tighten my grip even a little while holding it in my palm, it squeaks. It happens on the sides at the top of the phone, the side of the phone, and the bottom of the phone. The squeaking at the top and bottom of the phone aren't too bad, but it's pretty loud on the side.

It's gotten to be very annoying, and I can't figure out why it's doing it. The back cover clearly isn't sitting flush with the rest of the phone and i'm not sure what to do.

Should I take the back cover off and try to "tighten" it up on the side? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Seriously, my Startac, Moto and LG flip phone, also my BB Storm2, and my Eris all made squeaky noises when you squeased them.

My case was squeaking as well! I was very annoyed and fix it by putting a pice of scotch tape on the outer case. The tape has to go from the side to the back. Attached is a pic of my fix. As you can see I had many squeaks, but I am squeak free now!

Just did this and it worked perfectly. Great idea.

Mine has a slight squeek, got the hard red/black case and it was even worse so went to the black silicon now no squeek , solid feel and can barely tell there's a case on the phone

Definitely squeeky. It's coming from where the plastic back snaps into place (all those little snaps all around.

The back has slightly more give (its not actually perfectly snug - would be impossible to put on or take off) so its the nature of the entire back coming off. Instead of just one piece that slides off.

Annoying yes...but unless you want to put tape on it...can't see a way around it.

My worry is because the entire piece snaps on and off....changing batteries often, or anything else that requires taking the back off...will break the back piece.

Yeh mine squeaks as well. was hoping someone was going to release a better battery cover soon anyway--but in the meantime, I'm gonna give that scotch tape thing a try!

I had the same issue but was too ashamed to bring it up on here :-/ I've since bought a case, so I don't have to tolerate it anymore, but the tape trick is really clever!

I second that...I bought the same case recently and from a distance the case actually looks like the plastic on the front of the phone itself, so you'd barely be able to tell that it's a case. I'm definitely sticking with this case.

i have the red/black and i couldn't get it to squeak. glad though, i discover new flaws in my phone by reading this forum. stuff i would have never noticed, like the slightly sinking power button..

Mine started squeeking when i put my 1500 in it. Try this: take your battery out. Wrap ONE (1, just one) layer of electrical tape around it. Put cover back on. It will be a tight fit, this will help keep the door from wiggling.
