Squirrels!

Just do some searching for pictures of squirrel damage to roof structures, and tell me you want a nest of those creatures up there. Yeah like I want to cough up ££££'s to have my roof rebuilt. Let's not forget the insulation up there which they can also destroy. Plus the very real danger of electrical shorting, which in the worst case could burn down your entire house, and kill you.
Yup, I'm going to take all and every measure available to get them out ASAP.

This is animal cruelty!, it's bullshit!, if you have then in your roof, kitchen, what have you..then go ahead and feed them..then they won't eat your sheatrock..common sense..come on guys..where's your street smarts??..you all are supposedly "ranked" 33, 3, 21 and so on..where's your intelligence???..you spend a thousand dollars in a gun..but are so cheap to spend a couple of dollars to feed them??..no wonder we as a human race are so ****ing dyslexics..

You all sound just like that damn mother ****er who killed the big lion, just because is cool or because he felt threaten or what ever the **** was his excuse..that's disgusting!!!

Have a good day.

First, relax and stop cursing.
I'm happy with my intelligence, I'm no Einstein, but probably above average. Thanks for asking.
Secondly, why would I feed them? They're not domesticated pets, and I already have a pet dog, who I'm very happy with. Plus I don't think he'd play nicely with the squirrels. I'd be an idiot to encourage them to stay.
And that gun picture I posted is a cheap air rifle. My neighbour got one to shoot pigeons who line up on his fence and shit on his washing. What a monster he is eh? I think he's quite partial to pigeon pie, and they sure are plump.

Beware of Ninja Squirrels

Just when I thought it was safe to back into the attic... squirrel #3 caught this morning. Took him across the river to let him go so hopefully he's not finding his way back.

I've got one stubborn little Einstein of a rodent. The FLB (furry little b@st@rd) has been springing the trap and THEN taking the bait. I've figured this out because over the weekend I went to check the trap and it was sprung but the bait was still there. I had to run out for a while so I just let the trap sit there, closed, with the bait (peanut butter) inside.

When I came back a few hours later to reset the trap, the bait was gone. Now, either the squirrel has learn to use utensils, or figured out that his arms were just long enough to reach the bait from the outside.

Not to be outsmarted by a rodent, I took some gray mat board (the stuff used in framing artwork) and wrapped it around the back of the trap so there was no way to reach the bait without going inside. This morning I checked the trap and the bait was gone but the trap was unsprung. My little addition made the trigger plate slightly less sensitive. Enough so that he/she was able to get at it without getting trapped.

Apparently I was outsmarted by a rodent. Should I put that on my resumé?

Hmmm, maybe some soothing music and a little couch so he can tell me all his troubles for $150/hr. :D
