Root Sr4.0

But it will still be a beta ROM. That is my concern, that it will be buggy since it's a beta. I'm not worried about the name.

it's NOT a beta rom... it was one, but the release that is currently out is not beta, he just forgot to change the name. This is a stable release.

I restored data with no issues, definitely don't restore SYSTEM data.

Thanks, I have another question related to that though. The only data that I can back up in any way is the system data, so if I later "Restore Missing Apps w/Data", will it restore anything I shouldn't? Because it doesn't say "Restore. . . w/ System Data", just Data.

IF I can only back up applications and retain no data, is there any way I can back up and restore their data?

Titanium backs up the data for the apps as well. What I did when I restored was to go through the list of apps in my backup one by one, and anything that even remotely seemed like a system app, I unchecked. That way, I could have this great ROM and not have to redo every level of all three angry birds games. :)

I've been messing with this for awhile now, it seems to work great and I've had no problems yet (knock on wood). There's some nice new features included in the SkyRaider settings section.

The only thing I wish I had from 3.5 was the numerical value of your battery percentage in the notification bar (within the battery icon). If anyone could post a way to get that back, it'd be greatly appreciated.

So, I guess I spoke too soon. I'm having problems syncing Gmail ("Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly", but it's been much longer than shortly) and then my Exchange account suddenly cannot access a "remote resource". Anyone had any problems with this?

Anyone having random reboots with SR_4.0?

I am running Incredikernal also. But I've been running this setup for a week or so, and just last night it starting rebooting a lot. Like 2 times every 10 minutes or so. This morning on the way to work, I noticed it was still doing it.

I am seriously considering Nandroid Restoring back to my previous configuration which was the stock Rom. But before I do, I wanted to know if anyone else was having this problem or if there was a fix out there.

Because to be honest, aside from having a few choices on my lockscreen I haven't noticed anything SkyRaider has done for me over the stock rom. And I can live without the lockscreen options if my phone works better. I was supposed to have better battery life too, and even with my brand new Seido 1750mah battery, I haven't noticed any improved battery life over my stock battery.

No random reboots for me. The only issue I have had so far with SR4.0 is that the AKNotepad app I use will force close a lot throughout the day. Other than that, SR4.0 has been rock solid for me. Even created my own custom theme for it too enhance it even more. I was always an Vanilla ROM guy until I tried SR4.0. Now that I found a Sense ROM I like, I can swtich back and forth between Sense and Vanilla when I need a change.

Thanks for the info.

Another interesting thing is that sometimes when it reboots, some of my widgets fail to load. I have to remove them and place them on my home screen again, and they work after I do that.

I went ahead and restored to the nandroid backup I did right before I installed SR_4.0 So I am running the stock rom again, but as I said before I can't tell much difference. Maybe there were behind-the-scenes performance tweaks I don't know about. But there is not much that is obvious to me. I know it uses a different keyboard, but I use SwiftKey anyway, so that didn't matter.

I also have SR 4.0 with Incredikernal and about a week ago I was getting random reboots that kept looping. I noticed this behavior after I had added several system playlists - once I removed them, I haven't had a random reboot since.

What is a "system playlist?"

As far as I know, I hadn't really changed anything when it started randomly rebooting. It just did it all by it'self.

Since I have gone back to the stock ROM, I have not had any random reboots. I even uninstalled LP+ and am using Sense again. I think if I really want the most reliability from my phone, that is the way to go.

I wonder what would happen if I flashed Incredikernal over the stock ROM? Would it help anything?

Can someone tell me why this ROM does not see all my music for ringtones? It see the ones that are preloaded and a few more. Any help?

I'm curious. Which incredikernel were you using? I'm running one as well but it's the one for sense. 2.6.32.27
