Root SSM in CyanogenMod?

Anyone know if it's possible to get something like ssm in ctmod working for cyanogenmod? For those that aren't aware, ssm moves /data/data/ to on partition on the sd card and /data/dalvik-cache to another partition. There is a third partition that is fat32 for regular storage.

I don't want to have all data on the sd card because that's just too slow. I can't get S2E to work right and none of the other apps like that seem to work the way I want. I've tried to find out how ctmod does it but haven't figured it out yet.

S2e is the closest that you can get to SSM with cm7.

At some point kouma mentioned trying to get SSM working with cm7 but hasn't been successful. If he ever figures it out I'm sure he won't hesitate to share :)
 
I don't have CM7 installed at the moment but looks like I'll have to try again to get s2e working on it. I've seen lots of posts about others having problems with the greyed out boxes where some got them working eventually. Last time I tried it I couldn't get it to work.

On a side note, has anyone tried a UHS-1 (ultra high speed?) card in the prevail to see if that gives a noticeable speed boost? Not sure if the prevail could even handle these or benefit from them at all.

not to kick a dead horse, but I may actually be close. I finally got some time to work on a few things, and CM7 and 9 are on my list of things to do.
At the moment, I can get things to mount, but not without bugs. But I have a plan, and if it works out, you may see some excitement in a couple weeks
 
Sounds great Kouma. SSM for CM7 would definitely be epic! I would change over from S2E in a heartbeat. :D:thumbup:

Kouma that would be awesome!!! I can't get S2E to work to save my life.
 
I got S2E to work but some apps are kinda laggy. Boot time averages 50-60 seconds with the slightly infrequent freakish 30 seconds.

If it exists I haven't found it and feel dumb but otherwise I wish there was a way to put some apps on internal memory and others on the SD card (which is UHS 1/Class 10, btw). Ah well, still pretty good. Phone occasionally freezes up (no longer erratically-but-often spontaneous hot booting/crashing), but overall i'm happy with this setup. Youtube for some reason doesn't work as flawlessly as it used to. HQ videos are laggy and freeze but the audio still plays. That miiiiight be another issue though, but I don't remember youtube ever working properly on CM7. @_@

I believe there was a flashable YouTube.zip fix for cm7.1 as a mof I know I have it somewhere if you haven't flashed it or can't find it in the threads.
 
Can I get the one you have? I googled around for another one and it didn't work. HQ video refuses to play. ;_;

... on the upside, Low-Q vids no longer look as shitty as they did before. All I did was install version 2.something.

And finally, videos with low frame counts (i.e. slideshows or low-animation cartoons/etc.) vaguely play. the frames update occasionally but my phone is very clearly choking on HQ Youtube. @_@
