St. Louis 4G

Hahaha, ShiftNo, whatsup? Anyway, my post from androidcentral, pretty much the same thing to say here:

If that statement(if you can call it that) is true, then it seems that Sprint may have actually spent a bit of money to deploy WiMax in a decent fashion. What I'm hoping for is that Sprint/Clearwire has individual teams in each of these cities concentrating on just that city, and hopefully expanding them to a decent radius outside of the core market city. What the rep may have said may be true, because if I remember, when I asked the Sprint rep near my house(O'Fallon, IL) about 4g, he said it would most likely be in the east area around July. So that puts this deployment slightly ahead of schedule.

Who knows, hopefully we're in for some 4g love. If Sprint doesn't deploy 4g on the east side, then they are ignoring a large amount of their user base, and that's not cool.

Either way, just so anyone who wants to know knows, I'm new to this forum, just joined yesterday. I'm new to Android, and decent phones in general. Although, I am pretty tech literate. Anyway, I hope we see 4g soon on the east side, would definitely make our experiences better, and probably keep us locked on to Sprint for a while. Now, lets hope HTC/Sprint can come through with some decent updates, possibly a little money spent on some drivers or the like...

Got this tweet from @svinge, a Sprint 4G rep, after I asked about the possibility of St. Louis' 4G coverage expanding after its launch:

Looks more encouraging!

omgosh a fellow bellevillian o.0

hoping we get 4g soon. i work in o'fallon and live in belleville. /crosses fingers for a july release of 4g =D

I get 4g in pontoon beach illinois at work usually steady 2 bars but nothing ten minutes from here at my house

pretty much most areas inside 255-270 here on the east side have 4g, along with SIUE and parts of Edwardsville. I'm hoping it expands out more for sure.

I'm hoping 4g in Belleville/O'fallon/Fairview Heights soon too, I live FAR out of the metro, some 90 miles from Downtown STL but I hope to get 4g along 64 since I ride the redbird express when I go to the cards games and would love to get some of that 4g love when I'm riding into downtown..

I hope that's true that 4g gets expanded over the month. I guess just check the 4g from time to time and see if you get anything...

i'm out in the suburbs, ballwin/chesterfield... theres no 4g here yet. But i was in CWE(central west end) tonight and was getting 4-5 bars of 4g!

its sweet, i ran several speed tests, seemed to average around 5.6 Mbits/sec

With areas like I-70 in Foristell and up and down Wentzville Parkway (the sticks - out by me!) already having STRONG 4G coverage, as well as the lower-income north side and north of 270 areas (Flo-town, Fergie, The Haze, etc...) it's astonishing that the affluent areas of Chesterfield, Ellisville, Town & Country, Manchester, etc.... is so LACKING in coverage. The areas where the highest number of likely customers are, has the worst coverage, but the lower income areas have great coverage. Very odd.

think about it.... NIMBY's... That IMO is why there's no 4g coverage in Chesterfield, Ellisville, T&C... heck face it if it wasn't for NIMBY's 141 would be an actual freeway between 40 and Olive 10 years ago... instead of just starting on it now. it's stupid, they have all the nice phones, but you want to put up towers... whine and whine and whine.

got 4g strong all around North County by Hallsferry and Chambers and W. Florrisant and Chambers, most of North County period, full bars and fast as hell, im more happy about my EVO now than anything

edit: was downtown last night and I get 4g all downtown

Not fair saint louis has it but the belleville illinois area doesnt, can u tell me when we will get it plz?

You're going to have to wait until LTE rolls out over the next year/two. ]

Wish it was in Festus and surrounding area...They need high speed internet real bad. So many are on dialup and crap satelite service. I would sell a ton more phones and internet devices.
