Hello there,

Firstly, I don't think there is really one single ROM which I can recommend. Pretty much every Desire ROM is stable by now. Have a look here to see lots of choice ...

I guess it really comes down to what you want from a ROM ... for overall stability you can't go wrong with the likes of CyanogenMod 7.

Personally, or if you want lots of space, I would recommend dGB by SURoot in these forums. It's only about 60MB so with a custom hboot you can end up with 300mb + of internal storage.

+1 for dGB. Tried most of the ROMS out there and for me this is the most stable, smooth one out by quite a way.

Its also by far the most friendly, helpful place which is so refreshing after those threads full of over demanding, lazy eyed and sometimes downright rude fellow geeks.

Other ones you could try are Redux and Gingervillain. For me both good stable ROMS too or MIUI XJ for something different.

Let us know what you go for and how you get on :-)

If you want something simple, I'd say Redux (I recommend 1.2) but if you're S-Off, and comfortable in doing so, I'd change hboot and install dGB.
I've only tried 5 roms, but dGB ticks all my boxes. Bags of room, stable and best of all it's stripped to the bare bones. Good battery life too.
If you want a Sense based Rom, MildWild seems to be well favoured. I've never tried it though - maybe sometime in the future.

I lovedd reading about all the Roms and reviews and I think you should experiment and find your favourite. When I get a few days off around Easter, I think I'm going to spend a day researching and flashing a new Rom. There are loads out there, and I just want to see what else is out there.
