Stable ICS Rom for galaxy s2

xmg

Newbie
Hi guys.

Im looking for a stable ics rom which gives better battery life, tweaked and smooth. Can anyone tell me which one is the most stable rom out there for Galaxy S2 and which one will work for my phone?

My currently firmware:

Model: Galaxy S2
Android-Version: 2.3.5
Basebandversion: I9100XXKI4
Kernelversion: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKI8-CL616395
Build-number: GINGERBREAD.XWKI8

Thank you and sorry for my english..

IMHO there is no such thing as a 100% stable and fully functioning ICS ROM out at present as they are all based on leaked Samsung, pre release, beta versions.

Since Samsung will probably be releasing the official ICS version in the next week or two, it might pay you to wait for that.

If you are OK with rooting your phone, Checkrom with Siyah Kernel is probalby one of the best. I have been running this for three months and battery is very good. Here is a really good guide to root your phone: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...t/482994-rooting-galaxy-s2-dummies-guide.html

Thank you for reply. Can i keep my stock rom(official), and install another kernel to improve my battery life and still be able to update ICS via kies or OTA, when it release?

Hello,

I've tried various XXLPH roms and found differing problems. Some have struggled with GPS, other don't sync ActiveExchange emails.

I used the pureics 6.1 Rom and found it good but it seemed to guzzle my battery power.

Yesterday I installed Bezke UltraIcs 3.0 Full Holo, and I've put it through its paces today and its been great. Very quick GPS lock, no crashes, call recording.

The only main thing I've changed is the launcher (Nova) and its running like a dream.

:)

I have tried most of the ICS ROMS out there and always come back to GB because of battery life. Some of the ICS ROMS I found quite stable with very few FC's as long as you do a FULL Factory Reset wipe and install from scratch. Bacause of my experiences, I will wait for the released ICS version and a strong Kernel and custom ROM before I will upgrade to ICS permanently. Battery life is so bad compared to GB on CheckROM and Siyah!!
