Root stable ROM for Evo?

Am checking to see if there's any current ROMs for the EVO 4G that does not have any issues with FFC or wifi/wifi tether?

The sticky for ROMs haven't been updated since 2012 so am checking - hubby's Evo is running on Nitrous at the moment but it is starting to become glitchy so am checking around for stable ROMs.

Let me know, thanks.

if it is glitchy try and wipe dalvik cache and cache in recovery. it usually fixes most glitches and bugs. but as far as roms go, it depends on what you are looking for.

the roms from the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/618281-list-utilities-apps-roms-kernels-og-evo.html especially the staff picks are the ones i would recommend.

most of the sense roms will have ffc and tethering working.

aosp will depend on what android os you want. for ics or jb they will not have 4g or FFC working. but a great aosp rom that has everything working would be deck's reloaded.

After trying several roms over the last week (recently picked up a used evo to replace a dying samsung vitality), the rom that is "sticking" at this point is the mikg 3.11 rom. Gonna have to look at the thundershock rom, but you were asking about "stable", and of all the roms listed/tried, the mikg is really really working well on my phone.

--since the OP asked. :)

A little more looking at thundershock, and I definitely am going to try this one...because it does NOT have a2sd baked in. Quite a few of these evo roms do and it drives me nuts having to back out of it. I HAVE my card partitioned, but I waaaay prefer link2sd because it allows me to choose what apps to link and what not to. Some applications just don't like being on the sdcard for whatever reason, and d2asd doesn't allow "per application" choices. :)

i never have tried using links2sd, but for me i just move them all to the card myself. it is less hassle for me. i had at one time over 150 apps(not sure where they all came from....LOL) and having to pick and choose that many would have been a pain.....but that is just me.

those that do have a2sd cooked in you can undo it by typing in :a2sd remove" will move the apps back and then you can use links2sd if you like......just so you know.

Oh I do, and thanks for the info regardless...but I had some real issues with a2sd because the number of apps exceeded internal memory, and that "remove" command boogered it up but good a couple times because a2sd doesn't know that you're outta room when removin'. With link2sd the choice is up to the user, and rom switches/wipes and such are fairly easy to restore using this thread:

http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/495101-link2sd-tutorial-fresh-wipe.html

I like that link2sd has a front end that is easy to use and comprehensive...and lets me decide what sits on the 2nd partition. :)

Just sayin' I like more control over the rom from the beginning...and the first time I used a rom with it (a2sd) "already there", I didn't realize it was working until after problems started to occur... :D

The wife is still running MikG 3.11 on my OG. I flash new roms for her, and she yells at me to put it back the way it was!! It's not broke, and she doesn't want me to fix it!! :p

I really want her to give Thundershock a try, but she'll have none of it. :(

I kinda' have to agree with her. While I liked the look/n/feel of thundershock, it's not a sense rom, and I've found that sense is where I live pretty much.

...the mikg rom has all of the little details nailed when it comes to a sense rom. The tweaks, the look/n/feel, and overall experience are about as professional and smooth, imho, as something delivered by a company building the phones.

But choice is awesome, and I can see this rom (thundershock) appealing to quite a lot of folks. :-)

For pure Android with no overlays, blazingly fast, and super stable, Deck's Reloaded 500 by Team LOTK totally won me over. I will miss it when I upgrade.

What do you mean "miss it"? Just because you upgrade does not mean that you have to get rid of the EVO.... :D:D:D
