Help Stamina Mode

El Presidente

Beware The Milky Pirate!
Any body notice whether or not it makes a difference?

I allow some apps to use my internet connection (gmail, whatsapp, hangouts, cerberus etc). Doing it that way, am I completely negating its usefulness?

It does on the Z, but like all 5" display 'sets the more the screen is on the less difference it makes.

Not completely, but it's a trade-off against gimping your usage. I tend to only enable it if I'm going to be away from home/work all day i.e. at the mercy of the mobile network's variable signal.

Fair comment.

Although strangely, screen on time is easily the best of any handset I've had. It's when the phone is idle I think battery life could be better.

Thanks, I'll have a mess about with it on and off over the next few days, see if I can find a decent compromise.

That's how I did it. Nothing scientific, just restricting "always active" status to those apps that I need immediate updates from e.g. Gmail, Whatsapp.

Btw, Qualcomm released a similar app, Snapdragon Battery Guru, that allows more granular control. In my limited testing it didn't offer much improvement over Sony's offering though.

Has this changed with the latest firmware? I do not seem to find any options when I engage stamina mode. It just turns on or off...
