Help Start Up Issue. HELP.

So my phone is fairly new, so there hasn't been any damage to it, and it shut down randomly, and would not turn back on. I took out the battery and put it back in, and then when I went to turn it on, it does its little boot up sequence with the logos and such, and then at the last logo, it starts all over again, and it just continues to do this until i take the battery out again.
 
Try starting it without the sd card... If that doesn't work you can try a factory reset from hboot... Or you can try running the ruu.
 
thanks for replying. i tried running without the sd card. how to i reset? and if i do does that delete all my contacts? and what is the ruu?
 
A reset will delete everything, but your contacts should be backed up in google or vz backup assistant. To do a reset, pull out the battery, put it back in, hold the volume down button and press the power button till the phone turns on. You will see an option to factory reset the phone, use the volume keys to highlight the option and the power button to select it.
