Start up splash screen

Ok, my Cappy has the ATT flying 3g logo thing with the 'whoosh' jet engine sound, then the Galaxy S logo with the chimes sound.

Couple of questions - anyway to skip the splash screens and go right to loading background apps, etc?

Is anyone elses splash screen laggy? It seems like the swoosh sound is late and so are the Galaxy S chimes. Is this indicative of something?

Can't change it without rooting/hacking. But really, if you're rebooting so often that it's a problem, then there's something wrong with your phone.

kinda figured, but you could always skip or replace the windows/ dell/ hp/ et al spalsh screens, so...

The only things that annoy me are the sound.. (which I disabled long ago, but forgot exactly how I did it), and the fact that it's so blindingly white which I guess might have an impact on battery.

But the sound is the most annoying thing... maybe someone can post how to disable that, I can't find it.
