Hi all

My M8 is from Vodafone and has a start-up logo when powered on. Is it possible to have the Vodafone logo removed from the phone, I really hate it :-( All help really appreciated

The only way to achieve that is by rooting and flashing a custom ROM. See the "all things root" subforum for more info on rooting the M8. Be aware that rooting your phone will void your warranty.

Correct, rooting will be required. You'll more than likely be required to achieve S-off to change this because it's contained in the /boot partition I believe.
