Static/Noise During phone call

When ever I call people they always complain they cannot hear me because of some static/clicking noise but I dont hear it and I can hear them just fine. My friend has a evo 3d and when he calls me I dont hear it. Does this mean my mic is defective?
I bought the phone from newegg but would sprint fix it?

I have done all the updates I can.

*Update*
Went to sprint store and they confirmed the mic was defective. Told me newegg has to fix it (it was still within 30 day warranty). I returned it and got a new phone from newegg and the problem was fixed. So it was indeed hardware issue I guess with the some of the first batch of phones. I have also notice my ram usage is lower on the new phone even though I have the exact same backup on the new phone.

has this happened from day one?

have you done a complete hard reset? if you have and its still acting that way, send it back for replacement. dont beat yourself up trying to figure it out.

Yes it has been like this since day one. I tried the voice quality thing, hard reset, updated ota/prl/profile. I just dont wont to be without a phone for awhile as I have to ship it back, wait for them to fix it, and then ship it back. I rather just take it to a sprint store or something.

well do that.. :D just take it in and have them smoke it over. they probably will eventually tell you to send it back since your 30 days (or whatever neweggs warranty is) is thru a 3rd party.

however to your direct question, i have not had any static issues. have you looked at the vocoder thread? smoke that over and see if its something you may want to try

I had the same issue today when talking to my dad in my car, never had that issue on my evo, and when he was talking it cut in and out a few times, very disappointed with this phone as a phone, meaning it can be the fastest phone ever, but if I struggle making calls its an epic fail, now deciding on what to do...

Well, I went to the Sprint store Friday morning with my second Evo 3D. This time, I finally had one I could hear the ringer on and could hear the other person on the handset but they could not always hear me. Everyone kept telling me I sounded like I was under a pillow, very muffled and low. The techs at the store could hear it to. They told me to leave it with them for a few hours and they would run a diagnostic on it. I did and returned aout three hours later. They gave me a third new one. They confirmed that the second one did have issues they could not fix. I now have my third 3D phone and that's it. I will not get another one. If this one doesn't work out, I will go back to the 4G, like my wife has and loves.

After all this, I am convinced, there are no good 3D phones out there, with all sound and volume working as good as the 4G does. I think HTC blew it on this model for whatever reasons, confined space in which to work, taking shortcuts, complacency, etc. The strange thing about it is everything else about the phone is outstanding, it just doesn't function properly as a "PHONE."

I am very sorry your experience with this phone has not been good. I have had mine since 6/23 and have had no problems whatsoever. Call quality is great and it is so much faster than my EVO 4G was. I wish others could have the same positive experience I have. Hopefully your replacement will work out. Good luck :)

I agree with you, I returned mine for the same issues, everything else was excellent, was going to exchange it, but was afraid I would have the same issues, or worse, seems there was a bad batch of E3Ds. I actually got mine on 7/22/11, so that was the first batch, perhaps had I waited a little longer who knows...
