CM10 update:
Moving at a crawl for lack of reference and no way to build from source. Working on boot.img constantly to get it to boot. Learning a lot. Just keeping y'all informed cuz I been quiet a while.

If you dont wanna install rom, just unzip and take the SystemUI.apk and put it in your /system/app folder with the same permissions as the others in there and reboot.

Nothing. The rom is just a base for things that I test. I just didn't feel like making a zip for the SystemUI.apk.
Sorry. I was being lazy.
I was messing with the status bar stuff in between my flashing of cm10 tests.

Hey I like status bar and wallpaper if you know a website with new icons let me know
 
Thanks man, you are the greatest. Did you use that battery mod from xda to get 1% increments? I'm theming my own status bar and haven't tried the battery mod yet cause my computer is on the Fritz. Through trial and error I've gotten just about all the other icons changed.

Also, if I use your systemui.apk, can I change the battery icons with the ones I downloaded with 1% increments.

I used the mod but didn't do anything special with the increments, just got the icons to replace the originals with. I used apktool to extract and whatnot.
 
So technically speaking just pulling out system ui from let's say icscup 4 & overwriting the current one will change the icon right?
 
He all, I finally got a new computer so, I was able to run the battery mod from xda. I can confirm that it works (on windows 8) and it will give you 1% increments.
Ima start a new thread with links to a ton of battery mods, the mod files, & instructions on how to use the mod.

Big thanx to dadcup for showing me the way, and to totlth for working hard on cm10 for us all. 8-)
