Help Status Bar Question

Does anyone know if there is a way I can remove the clock from the status bar? I have having it right above a widget with the time. I'm running stock rom 4.1.2 and using Apex Launcher. I dont want to use a custom rom if possible.

You can't hide the clock separately but you can hide the entire Notification Bar. Apex settings, Homescreen settings, Hide Notification Bar.

I am rooted, so if there are options not involving a custom rom I'm able to try them.
