Wanted to know how many people were going to go back to stock for 2.2 vs staying rooted.

I'm finding that only non rooted N1 users can update to 2.2, with that being the case it would only make sense that you would have to be stock 2.1-update to get 2.2...
How are people working on a 2.2 rooted rom when 2.1 isn't even rooted?? I understand getting some of the benefits but like we did with 2.1 but the official 2.1 as far as I know hasn't been rooted.. so... and if that is the cause I would wait for black droid to make one.. cause I'm sure he would trick it out and make it B@d@$$
Just thought about this... if 2.2 is as amazing as it sounds and gingerbread is already around the corner... what could dev's add that we wont be getting from the official update??

The developers are taking the release that they got, and they are porting it over so we can have out own 2.2 ROM before everyone else who isnt rooted. And since we have 2.1 ROMS I dont see how we wouldnt be able to get a 2.2 ROM.
+1. It's the only way to make an informed comparison.Frankly, I like trying the stock ROMs first. It's the only true way to benchmark and test a new ROM and then compare that to the custom ROMs.
I'm especially looking forward to trying out the new JIT-enabled Dalvik in it's virgin form, without an over-clocked kernel.![]()
