Help stck on shtdown screen

im asking anyone to help me my acer a500 is stuck on the shutdown screen every time i press the reset button it never goes off how do i do i factory reset.

Can you press the reset button? Its on the right side next to the USB

The hard reset described in the link (power on with volume up pressed) will boot the recovery program and may make your tablet unusable if you don't have an appropriate zip file in the external SD card.

I suppose you could argue it's already unusable so what the heck, but I don't think it's going to make it better.

I'd try the other reset (paper clip in the hole)

With apologies to pagdodd, I was confused with a different process using volume and power buttons. On further checking, pagdodd's tip looks right.
