Root Stellar wont go passed Samsung logo

Hello,

Ok first off I love this site, It usually has everything I need to root a phone and yet It has never failed.

I got this Samsung Galaxy Stellar about 3 months ago and have rooted It once before (from this site) then the new 4.1.2 update updated my phone automatically so now I have no root. I found a post on here for the method of going stock then root.

which I found here http://androidforums.com/galaxy-ste...root/743296-how-do-i-root-galaxy-stellar.html

I followed the whole guide no mistakes I assure you. And I understand that this Is going to stock which means that the whole internal storage Is wiped out completely so first time use would mean the loading time would be longer, i understand that but the longest that It would take Is MAYBE 4-5 minutes not 8 1/2 hours. It's still on the samsung screen and I do not know what to do.

I'm on stock 4.0.4 I believe. I was on 4.1.2 ME1 when I tryed to downgrade. I can still get on Odin.
Iv heard that the phone Isn't bricked but half bricked and If you have a way In Odin then you have the ability to fix your phone.

Please help.:(

It's probably just a kernel issue. Use billard412's one click downgrade instead.

Thanks for responding, and im sorry for posting this when someone already asked this question, (I looked deeper and found a thread about this issue) and you responded to the other one as well. Um, I think what I did wrong was, the stock.VRAL.system.img.tar.md5 you posted, I used in odin, when It was done (well i thought It was done) I pulled the usb cable out before It said "passed" on the top left of the windows odin program. I noticed on the stock.boot.img.tar.md5 It said passed because I waited. Maybe because I didn't wait Is the reason why It doesn't want to boot into the home screen?

Wait what? Root now? ok...so I can root while im in odin? because you know I can't even boot into the actual firmware and install apps. So you are saying i should root. once its rooted that gives me the ability to boot the phone? then use rootkeeper? I mean How would you do it.

Got it to work from that one click downgrade. Thanks allot for the link. But now I need my mind refreshed because I forgot one thing about rooting I'm going through that root guide , with rootdebug thing. I was about to root but it says adb is not internal or external Blah blah blah I downloaded that adb sdk kit still it says it's not internal or external. I don't remember what to do. And it didnt say anything about adb on the guide that you provided in that link.

Yes lol and unknown sources. It just keeps saying 'adb' not recognized as internal or external command. I just press enter and it said something about rooting and said the same thing about adb. I had this happen the first time I tried rooting the galaxy. I think I had the adb mixed in with the sdk I believe. I'll try that tomorrow. Unless you know what has to be done?

Alright im back at the library and It still is asking for adb, im pretty sure the reason why it wont work is because when you install the adb driver it asks you to restart the computer and well, if i do restart, then everything that was downloaded will be erased automatically. So im just about 100% sure that that is the problem. I'll just have to wait.
