step by step what i need after rooting..

Total rookie here. I manage to root my Lg VM670. It took literally 10 sec. To do it. I'm excited but now what. I want to install custom rom. But as I'm researching rom manager and similar issues, more questions arise. What screen do I have. It says use adb shell ( I don't even know what that is). It says in forums things like u may brick ur phone if u install wrong rom. I have android 2.2.2. No idea what screen type. Is there a step by step tutorial how to flash recovery, rom and all the other goodies. And most important IN WHAT ORDER??? Everytime I get a breakthrough. It will say " u need this first, u need that first"....my service is virgin mobile. I got it for free and want to learn on it before I buy an expensive phone :)
 
To be honest with you, your best bet will be to sign up and start asking questions in the Optimus V - All Things Root section: Optimus V - All Things Root - Android Forums

A good place to start checking out information is the root guide there. It's full of information. There's not really a short simple explanation for root info. It definitely takes some reading but you really need that back and forth conversation to get all your questions answered.

The best place for that is with the friendly helpful folks in that section who are experienced with that particular device (which I am not).

I think you'll find that if you sign up, say hi in the intros you'll feel right at home!
