Root Step by steps to reflash

So, I'm having problems with MMS and SMS and another thread said to reflash. I'm a noob and have only flashed once and that was at the same time that I rooted. Can someone give me some abbreviated simple step by step instructions on how to reflash, including when to backup and restore? I promise I'm a quick learner and won't have to ask again.

Just a simple go here, do this and in the right order. I'm assuming from reading other posts I should backup with Titanium and nandroid, then wipe...but wipe what...then reflash....but how...reboot and restore. Is that mostly correct at least?

If you mean reflashing the stock MMS/SMS app, that's different... you'll need the flashable app for that.. it's in another thread here....
