Still did not get the OTA anyone else?

I am really bummed still nothing. I have had about every rom I can find and still have problems with the lag overclocked and all. I went to this phone from the moto droid and the speed is really disappointing. I hope the official 2.1 cures some problems. I really want to love this phone form factor is A+ speed is D-
 
2 Eris', me and my wife. We are still waiting, but like many people have stated their wives couldn't care less. So that means I'M still waiting and she is confused by my OTA fever.

still waiting, but i was at the verizon store and the eris on display got it. wtf?!

But yes, you're probably correct in worrying about getting a new Eris as bug free as the one you now own. Perhaps a long, in-store test of it before walking out the door with it. ;)

well, verizon was sending me a "like new" device which to me means refurb. i dont know, the ear speaker sounds good 99% of the time, then sometimes it sounds like its blown.
 
I bought my Eris on December 30, and I live in NYC. I got the update notification at 3:50 AM today.
I waited until 2 hours ago to upgrade, when I had the time. What a difference! My ex-wife called me to try to reconcile, I found a parking space right in front of my building, and my undershirts came out whiter than ever!

I'm sorry. There was no offense intended, but you did say that checkin checks updates for apps, not for the OTA. However, there seems to be evidence that when it checks, it also checks to see if a systems update is available and notifies you of the update. If this is true - and I do not know that this is so - then doing a checkin once a day if you do not have the update may kick off the process for you.
 
WOw random!! I also think the checking update works. I'M bored so I done it about 5 times and bam!! Systemupdate is available. Will post back as soon as I finish downloading :)

I just proved myself wrong, you were right all along mate. I just did *#*#checkin#*#* and the notification came "system update available"

stoked, charging my phone because it was at 14% ... my buddy that lives down the street from me got it last night (athens, oh)

Did the *#*#checkin#*#* and the update is now downloading.

Jeeezzz, I don't know why I am so excited but I am. WTF......:rolleyes:
 
Went to about phone--> system updates and got nothing.

Did the *#*#checkin#*#* method, system update available! Downloading it now at 12:30 AM eastern time =]

I'm in central Maryland and was running 1.5
 
Just did the *#*#checkin#*#* at 1233 and low and behold I have the update ready to go!
I am in Northeast Ohio!

I just did the CHECKIN thing and it came through this time! It's downloading right now! My wife got hers last night.

Officially a believer of the checkin now.

I start dialing it in thinking what the hell are these people talking about..damn checkin, this is so...system update? what?

In Arizona running v2 leak...still no OTA...bout to try the checkin

EDIT: just did the checkin...it simply said success and nothing more....bummer
 
I was the happiest guy alive for a few seconds when I saw this:
