Still no ICS update

I just got my update to 4.0.4 (Rogers) and I'm noticing the hyper battery drain. I've gone from 85% to 77% in about 30 mins.

See the info posted later in THIS thread about using Exchange Services. There's a bug in that service causing the battery drain. Don't use Exchange until they release a bug fix.

finally, yesterday i did few *#*#checkin#*#*, then i went to sleep (APN, WIFI off), this morning when i turned wifi on, i instantly got the update notofication, ill give up some news about the battery soon.

Guys I received the notification this morning, downloaded it, clicked install. It started as usual, a screen with a little android opening box and an installing progress bar down below. Then, about one third into the installing, the error icon popped out (android and an exclamation mark). I had to pop out my battery and reboot. It rebooted there's again no sign of update notification.

So frustrated...

Well, I have had my upgrade for a few days now, and while some of the increased battery drain can be accounted for by my playing around with the settings, one of the issues is not related to usage.

When I took my phone off the charger this morning it was showing as fully charged and after just over an hour with data on, but WiFi, GPS and BT all off, the charge was down around 90. I thought this meant I had a problem with fast drain so I plugged it in to charge it up so I could watch it more closely. When the main screen said "Charged", I left it plugged in and went to Settings=>Battery. That screen showed "95% - Full". I left it connected for another hour and checked several times. Each time the percent showing for the battery was either 94 or 95.

So what is the actual problem:
1) the system is misreporting the true charge level of the battery?
2) for some reason the battery is no longer charging up to its top level?

Note: the above does not mean that there is not also a problem with fast drain, but I have not returned to normal usage yet to give it a true test. When I do I will use it until the charge runs out to see if it does when the displayed charge gets to around 0.

my battery lasts longer than 2.3.6, i left my phone for 5 hours idle and it only went down by 1%,

btw, me n igtr got our update at same time, and were both from koodo(i think), arent google suposed to give it randomly?

Mine is also not charging past 96% and battery life is brutal

There is a bug in the charging system that still has not been corrected in the Android OS (since the Nexus S was released) so 96% is the maximum you will get without using the "Keep awake during charging" and "USB Debugging" settings to fully charge the battery. I gave up on it and just let the phone do its thing - charge to 96% and use it.

As for battery life, there is a bug in the Exchange service that causes a loop and makes the CPU work much harder than normal, causing heavy battery drain. This is usually seen as high "Android OS" and high "Exchange Services" processes. I strongly suggest two things to help alleviate these issues:

1 - do not use Exchange for now, until a bug fix is released

2 - if not using Exchange, then a factory reset fixes most other issues

Have at it...
:D

I've seen exchange but I don't even know what it does. If I disable it, will anything stop working properly?
