Still No Update?

I was called by Sprints executive tech support yesterday and told to expect an ota addressing the sms issue between the 13th and 14th, when I go and check for the update manually the screen just sits there saying checking, has anyone received the update or been able to check for an update on the phone?

Nothing on this end, either. Hopefully by the end of the night. That would be awesome. Because I still haven't S-Off'd this thing. I think I'll just lock the bootloader later, flash the RUU, and then update. Unless a talented dev can make a flashable zip out of it...I know I can't, I can barely patch ROMs for VM.

So, anyone have the update yet? I don't. They need to hurry up. D:

Just got off the phone with Sprints tech support team and was advised that the ota addressing the sms issue will start rolling out on the 14th. I personally would wait for at least a day to see if it works and more importantly if it breaks anything in the process. Plus I much prefer to have a dev make a flashable zip instead of re locking and running the RUU. BUT IT IS COMING! :p

Just got a VM branded replacement Evo.

Now that this OTA is coming out, should I even S-OFF or could this update affect S-OFFs? Just worried because I don't want to botch this S-OFF.

The only way that it would affect your ability to s-off would be if the ota changed the hboot, I don't see any reason for the update to do this. If it really does worry you just s-off and wait for a flashable zip or relock the bootloader.

Ok, I do have a direct number to Sprints executive tech support team and just got off the phone with them and they said that as of 12 o'clock it's starting to roll out, here's keeping my fingers crossed, and toes, eyes, signals and whatever else that I can think of.

Relax, do you really want to be the first lucky person err I mean guinea pig to try it? Been dealing with this since I activated my phone on June 4th. I think waiting a little while longer is probably prudent. I mean really, all amounts to is a small update to correct an intermittent issue, not like it's an upgrade to 4.2 or anything really exciting.
