I have a moto droid running the stock 2.1 I want a way to easily backup my phone. I don't mind retweaking a few system setting and my sms, contacts, mail etc are backed up online, but I want to be able to backup my APPs with their settings. For instance, shazam tags, Helix launcher icon layout etc. I also want my apps to be linked to the market so I can get updates.
It seems like I need to root and use Titanium Backup. Is this what I want? Will it restore my homescreen layout since I am using an app for it (helix)?
Also, I do not want a custom rom, and I DO want to be able to get OTA updates like normal. I just want this better backup.
