Root Stock Boot Animation Changer

Does anyone know how to change the startup animation? Ex: Bobzhome cm7, after the white lg logo comes the red lg logo, the red one is the one I want to change. If someone knows where this is located and how to change it, could anyone please give me a brief step by step process on how to do this. I would appreciate it very much, and you'd be my idol for-ever :P

Not trying to replace the 3rd animation, 1st: Lg white logo 2nd: Red lg logo 3rd: Green android particle animation. Im talking about the little red lg logo that replaced the splash. I already changed the green android particle to cyan android particle but i really wanna get rid of that red logo and change it to something else.

Those first two LG logos are known as "boot splash animations" and are a part of the kernel. As far as I know the only way to change that image is to plant a new one inside of a decompiled kernel and then recompile it and install. I know other models allow for fastboot splash flashing but ours simply doesn't have support yet. If you want a good kernel with a custom image already in place I'd download PlayfulGod's Plague kernel and use it. If you know about DSIXDA's android kitchen it can be used to extract the boot.img which contains the zImage (the kernel) from a roms zip. From there though you'll need a Linux OS or an equivalent VM. Its quite a task and the tutorials for busting open and recompiling zImages can quickly be found on Google or CyanogenMods wiki I believe. I'm on my mobile so I cannot post links easily.

Please Note: The file inside of the kernel you're looking for is known as "init.rle" and you'll need a means of converting your new image to. Rle format. Also you'll need remember that the image size cannot be larger than 320x480. :)
