Help Stock browser questions

Hello,

I have some questions about the stock Android ICS browser.

- When my screen is set to 100% brightness, and then I open the Internet, the screen dims to around 50%. When I close the internet (either by pressing back or the Home key), it goes back up to 100% brightness. Why is this?

- When I open the Internet, it reloads the page I was previously looking at. This is very annoying, as I occasionally load up a website containing a lot of text so I can read it on the train when my signal is likely to be patchy. I think to myself "it's fine, I'll load the page when I have signal, then read it when I don't", but the page keeps trying to reload when I open the browser again, and it fails, and I'm left with an error screen. Is there a "reload on open" option I'm not seeing?

- How do I get it to autofit text onto 1 screen, for example, I visit b3ta.com's Question of the Week webpage, and the text continues sideways and I can't get it to fit to 1 page. However, using Opera Mini 7, it does fit to one page. How do I get the stock browser to behave this way?

Thanks.

Assuming android ICS 4.0.3...

question 3:
open your browser. Go to settings, then advanced and check 'auto-fit pages'.

still looking into the other 2 questions ;)

The Auto Fit box is already ticked, but it doesn't auto-fit some webpages. I have to scroll sideways on some, it's really annoying.

To alter brightness:
open browser
press menu button
select Brightness/colour
adjust to your liking

simples! :)

Aha, that worked!

Is there a way to set it to be the same as the rest of the phone!!?

It seems ridiculous my phone's brightness might be set to 100% and my internet's brightness set to 0%, and both of them are adjustable!

Set your overall screen to Automatic, and also your browser?

That's fine, except for when Automatic is too bright/dark for what I want at certain times, i.e., in sunlight. Then, I set the phone's brightness to 100% and I'd want the internet's brightness to follow, but it doesn't. It's just annoying having two brightness settings.
