I use the stock calendar which comes with the Desire, and this syncs to my Google calendar. On my Google Calendar I have added a few additional calendars including UK Holidays and, because I have links with Norway, Norwegian Holidays. Last year when I first bought the phone and set up the HTC calendar everything was fine. Towards the end of last year I noticed that none of the holidays for 2011 were appearing in the HTC calendar (UK or Norway), although both showed up on the Google Calendar on my laptop.
I did some research on these forums, and it seems to be a common problem. The suggested solution was to remove the additional calendars from within Google Calendar, then resync the phone, then add the calendars again, and resync again. Well I tried this and managed to get the UK Holidays back, but after several attempts I still can't get the Norwegian Holidays on my phone.
I have tried a different calendar app, Touch Calendar, to see whether this would resolve the problem, but no, I have the same problem. From what I have read here I believe that all of these calendar apps effectively sit on top of the basic Android calendar, and the problem lies with the Android calendar. Correct me if I have misunderstood here. So is there any way of resolving this problem? It worked perfectly last year. Why should a change of year screw it up? Surely we are not expected to go through the rigmarole of removing calendars, syncing, adding and resyncing at the end of every year??
