Help Stock Calendar

When I try to add an entry into the stock calendar it requires me to associate that entry with an account like Google calendar or Exchange. I don't want to use any accounts at this point but it will not let me make an entry without an association. Is there a way to use the stock calendar as stand alone? Thanks!

Isn't the stock calendar actually your Google calendar?

It could very well be, that is a good point.

Is your phone setup to sync with either your google/gmail calendar or your exchange calendar? If yes, I assume there is no way around this with the stock calendar.
