Help Stock Camera app and SD card issue

So in the last few weeks when I've tried to take a picture (either for facebook or go sms pro) the camera locks up. I press the home button and the home screens are blank. When I restart the phone it doesn't recognize any SD cards until I format the one I'm using. This has happen twice so far, the second time within the last hour. It's quite frustrating. Any ideas?

Is it an old card? It might be going bad. Does the camera work fine when not trying to use it through another app? Kind of sounds like it could be an out of memory issue, except for the loss of the SD.

Its the same card I used for my Venice, maybe 2-3 years? And if the camera goes screwy I think it can be either the app itself or through other apps. I've been having a lot of memory issues with several devices it would seem

Sounds like its time for a new microsd card.
