Help Stock Email App and links Problem

When i receive an email that has a link there are parts of the link that are not click-able. Any way to fix this ?

Thanks

i've been wondering the same thing for a month now as well. getting tired of having to open email links with the gmail app instead of the native email app which looks much better IMHO.

it also wastes my data having to load my emails with both apps to open one link. i have no idea how anyone can survive on 200mb a month with a samsung captivate... def need to upgrade to the 2gb plan soon but im still on my moms family plan and she wont let me :-p LAME. i still hate att for making a 200mb plan, 1gb and then 2gb for $25 would have made much more sense for smartphones nowadays

I can't see anyone staying under 200MB per month. Before my Captivate i was on the $15 unlimited data with my Samsung Jack and my average was around 300 to 400MB per month. Since my Captivate im at almost 900MB for the month and i don't have anything running in the background pulling data except for push email that checks every 1/2 hour.

As for the links problem in the email it is getting really annoying.

What email app are you using? Have you tried K-9? It's based on the stock client, but is constantly developed and has lots of new features and improvements.

It can be rather tricky for email apps to correctly parse out a long URL with lots of funky characters. There is a standard spec for solving this: enclosing the entire URL between < and > but of course most emailers ignore this. So in one sense, you can blame whomever is sending you the emails.

thanks for the tip sremick, just installed K-9 and changed it to the dark theme (the only reason i really liked the stock client was the black layout over the gmail apps white)

loving it! :-D

I just tried it, works perfect !

It would be nice if we can swap the stock email icon with K-9.

You can if you use an alternate launcher such as Launcher Pro, and put K-9 into the dock. Then you can replace the icon with any of the available dock icon options.

You don't need to be rooted or do anything to swap the icons. Go to the application screens menu/cusomize/ edit and then press on the icon , for exmaple K9 that you want to add to the bottom of the screen and delete your stock email icon like you normally would. It will appear in the applications area just in case you need it again.

Any other way if your rooted ? I don't use other launchers.

My rooted is what? Or did you mean "you're"? ;)

TouchWiz doesn't provide that functionality, sorry. It's a limitation of the launcher. If you want features that are beyond what Touchwiz provides, you need to use a different launcher.

Honestly, though... I can't think of any real reason to not use LauncherPro. It can function identical to Touchwiz if you configure it that way, and meanwhile it provides tons of features Touchwiz does not.

WRONG!!It is a standard part of the Touchwiz interface and can be accomplished just as I mentioned abobve. I have k-9 as my mail icon on the bottom and put the stock email icon in application limboland

You and I are talking about different things.

You're talking about whether you can replace the apps in the tray. Yes, you can.

My understanding from his question was whether he could change the visible icon for K-9 when it was in the tray. That requires a different launcher.

I would like the K-9 icon in the app tray and remove the stock email icon.

I don't see the menu/customize/edit part that you are talking about. Please explain it step by step. Thanks :)
