Help Stock Email App

Is there a way to insert your name as you want it shown when sending messages? Right now, its sends every message with my full email address when I want it to simply just show my name.

Other apps have an option is settings, but I do not see one.

Select the menu while in the inbox of the account you want to name, select more and then account settings.

I am not trying to name the account (if I have multiple). I am trying to add my personal name for outgoing messages rather than it showing my email address.

Second line down where it says "Your name"

This is what I am seeing:
From Inbox, select Menu > Account Settings
Options I have are:

Account Name
Signature
Period to sync mail
Default Account
Always CC/BCC myself
Email Notifications
Select Ringtone
Vibration
Incoming Settings
Forward with files
Split view mode
Sync Schedule
While Roaming
While power is low

And this is on a Skyrocket? I can see why there's confusion now, on mine from any account inbox: menu>more>account settings =

General Settings

Account name
Your name (the one you need)
Add signature
Signature
Email check frequency
Default account
Always cc/bcc myself

Notification settings

Email notifications
Select ringtone
Vibration

Server settings

Incoming settings
Outgoing settings

Common settings

Forward with files
Split view mode

Are you maybe running an older version of android?

Android 2.3.5

Not sure why your settings are different, assuming it's a stock OS I'd think they'd be the same. I don't think this will work, but it's worth a try; 2.3.6 is out today for the Skyrocket, maybe install that and see if the settings options change.

I am downloading as I type now. I will let you know what happens.

Yes I was, I'm out of suggestions other than to go to an AT&T store and check one of their display models, if the in store model has the same menu mine does maybe you can get them to exchange.

Is this your only email account on the phone? Do the other email accounts have this option?

My only suggestion is to delete the account, clear email data cache/reset phone and then set the account back up.

Last ditch effort would be to do a "Factory data reset".

Oddly, deleting the account and clearing the email cache worked. Thanks!

Now I have a new question...

Is there a way to set the default folders in the stock email app? I have added my Gmail account (because I do not like threaded/conversation emails in the Gmail App). I want to use my [Gmail]/Trash folder, but the stock email app keeps using its default Trash folder, which is creating a new [Imap]/Trash label/folder in my Gmail account. I have deleted the new [Imap]/Trash folder from my Gmail account, but whenever I delete an email in the stock email app, it re-creates the folder again to place the deleted email in it. I have also set under Incoming Settings the IMAP Path Prefix to [Gmail]
