Root Stock ICS or Sense 4.0

Will a working stock ics (AOKP, Liquid Smooth or CM9, even MIUI 4 etc) or sense 4.0 ROM ever be created for this ? That would definately convince me to get it :D thanks
 
It comes with ICS installed already.. That might not be exactly what you are asking, but it's what I understood. There's a harmonia 3.0.5 rom that I'm using from vmroms it works great so far. couple minor issues. stock ics with tweaks, sense 3.6 - as far as i know. I'm not an expert by any means.
 
I can create or port those ROMs (since Mms doesn't work on Evo V 4G when using a Evo 3D ROM, but you can still use Evo 3D ROMs if you want); but the thing is 3D camera on the HTC EVO 3D is very unique/special. Most AOSP ROMS(CM, AOKP, Liquid, MIUIv4) won't have 3D camera. WiMax is also a current problem but that can be easily fix after a while I believe. Unless 3D camera isn't really wanted i can start making, or porting, those ROMs once I get the phone. But it has Non-sense ROMs though, where Sense has been removed from the ROM without losing 3D camera.
 
You can actually flash any of the Evo 3D roms right now, so you could find a desensed ICS rom if you wanted, or you could flash the One S port that has Sense 4.0, but as it stands MMS will not work with those + whatever else they have that doesn't work on the Evo 3D. That MMS situation may change soon as jmz and the other devs work on fixing it in some select ROMs.

I personally don't care too awfully much about 4G or 3D, so once they have MMS fixed, it's off to a custom ROM I go. If I really need either of those, I can just keep a nandroid backup of stock at the ready. I can't get 4G anywhere near here anyways.
 
Unfortunately the MMS issue has been a constant problem with Virgin Mobiles non standard implementation of this service. Some models have had roms successfully ported while others have had no joy. We'll just have to wait and see if ports from the 3d will be able to overcome the MMS issue.
 
If theres a usual method to make mms work then I might work on rom's (when I get my computer working again :p) otherwise if its one method to make it work on one rom and a totally different way to make it work on another than I probably won't do much as far as that goes. Tryin to learn as much about android as I can :)
 
Right now my main suggestion is of course what I've been suggesting all along - the Dispatcher switch. The first two ROMs I downloaded, I was unable to decompile the framework.jar and got constant errors, so I'm not too positive it would work too well. But I'm probably going to have to mix/match with the apktool fixes
 
Something to note is that mms should work on cm9 build of evo 3d. The reason is because of recent commit to cm9 source that enables cm9 builds to accept vm mms. So test it out and see how it goes
 
i flashed the Sense 4.0 port from xda and was able to play Youtube videos in the 3D so it works yay :)........... but the default video player / gallery and camera don't untilize the 3D boo!!!! :(

just thought i'd share the only thing left to fix on the Sense 4.0 port is only 4G technically

I use 4G pretty often, well, being in a 4G saturated area why wouldn't I? Lol
 
I don't even consider 4g on this phone a feature. Nearest 4G is 45 minutes away (LOL IT AUTOCORRECTED TO SWAG.) and I don't really have any business being there.
