Stock Messaging App Themes & Related ?'s

I just changed the way my texts read from the usual list of texts to the optional bubble type of display.I don't like it and I can't figure out how to change it back.Has anyone done that yet? In the stock messaging app I went into settings and then tapped "conversation theme''. Now I can't change it back. Thanks

Have done it several times to get the one I like. Dont know why its not allowing you to do it. You may have to do a soft reset.

When the screen freezes or not responding to screen touch or input: Press and hold the Power key for 10 seconds to reboot it.

or simply remove the battery and after a few seconds reinsert it.

I'm not having a freeze problem or an unresponsive screen problem. I just can't get back to the messages showing in list form instead of the"cartoon bubbles" that I mistakenly changed it to. Not a major problem,I can live with the w bubbles, but there has to be a way.

Are you saying you don't remember how you changed it to the bubbles? Because all you have to do is go back and do it again.

I'm not trying to be a smart a**, but can someone do me a favor. In stock messaging app, go into settings and change the conversation theme to bubbles. Then change it back to just list the messages like it was and tell me how you did it. Thanks

Are you sure you didn't change an individual contact's theme to a separate theme? When I change (i went from translucent to the chicken/pig and back) you get a check box that allows you to except individually set themes.

As in you can set up a contact to have a different theme from the settings in a particular persons message.

If you want to change it all you have to uncheck except box to overwrite all individually set themes to one default.

Same way I changed it to bubbles. Settings, conversation theme, bubble tab. Not sure why this is so difficult for you? Are you using a third party SMS app?

We are making some progress. Yea, when I changed I went into settings>conversation theme and the screen with the wallpaper and bubble choices came up. I selected the cloud wallpaper and 1 of the bubble themes and hit O.K.. Now I want to change it back. I appreciate your efforts, but unless you have done what I did and changed it back successfully, don't answer this. If you were successful in changing it back tell me how you did it.

I don't think there is anything to fix. I have not seen anything that shows the default list you talked about versus the bubbles. You can go into the app and reset message settings to default but that doesn't give you a list...just white bg with basic bubbles. See attached screens...

I get into settings and restore default settings. I say yes and it acknowledges restore, but it doesn't change a thing. I still have bubbles. I'll live with it unless someone knows a way. I'll stop at Verizon store next chance I get. Not that they'll know,but----

My point is that I think the bubbles are the default. Is there any screenshot or video online you can find that shows the list you are talking about? I couldn't find anything.

I'm not saying I don't believe you. I changed the theme early on. Did you try going into the application manager and clear data for the messaging app? That will delete all of your messages so make sure to use sms backup or something else to back them up and later restore them. If that doesn't work...not sure what else would...
