stock messaging app

i use handcent sms for all my texts but the stock app keeps popping up how do i stop it from popping up. i already put handcent to be my default messaging app but it still does it.

go into the stock app and disable all the notifications for it.

open message app, hit menu, then notifications, uncheck received notification, uncheck play notification sound??

yeah thats were i did it, ive noticed the stock doesnt pop up when the phone is on only when the screen is off and locks, when i unlock it its there waiting for me

Think I found it as I was randomly messing around with phone in bed. Go to settings, security and uncheck the message preview on lock screen.

had already done that, all that does is stop it from turning on your screen and showing your message.

are you in the phones settings? thats the one i was referring to, not either of the apps settings.

i tested mine with this setting unchecked and nothing shows up on my lock screen.

yeah nothing shows up on my lock screen either but after i unlock it the message is on my screen waiting for me, and it only does it when my phone is locked

what do you mean, 'on your screen waiting for you'

can you post a screen shot of what you mean? i don't think i am understanding completely

ok i think i figured it out i restarted the phone and it went away :/
