Root stock messaging force close every time

Froyd villain1.2.2 stock messanger force closes so
I tryed chomp and I can send text but not recive messages . if I cant fix this I will have to go back to 2.1 Villain 12. what can I try

PS I tryed to post a bug report on Villains forum but it wont let me post I just get errors
 
Chomp won't work because it only acts as an interface for the stock sms app. The stock one does all the work, so if it's broken nothing will work.

Unless this is a common bug, I'd guess it might be an incorrect flash. I would try redownload and reflashing the ROM (with just a dalvik-cache wipe) to see if that fixes it. You might have a corrupt download, or the flash process might not have worked correctly.

EDIT: And I can't even load villainrom.co.uk. Seems their server is having issues.
 
Handcent works the same way as chomp, as an alternate interface for the stock app. I would expect handcent to have the same issues as chomp is having on burger's phone.
