Stock rom after custom rom

If I decide to put a custom Jellybean rom on my phone will I be able to update my phone to AT&T's jellybean through kies once it comes out if I reinstall a stock rom? This may be a dumb question. I'm not an expert but not exactly a newbie. I just haven't messed with custom roms before. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you know of a decent stable build for the I777. Thanks.

I am currently using a supernexus rom. A couple weeks ago i decided to return to stock just to see if the new 4.0.4 update has fixed the SOD. I connected my phone to my pc and ran kies. It notified me of the new update . I updated but couldnt root using exynos abuse:D. I think you can do that and wait for the new jelly bean 4.1.2 update.

PS. I forgot to say that first I flashed gingerbread using odin. After that I connected to kies.:o

If you are on AT&T's ROM, you should be fine. If you are on any other ROM, it won't even connect to kies. I would probably install AT&T and unroot (so you go back to stock AT&T everything), then I would do the update via kies. Interesting how you would want to go back to the AT&T bloatware though... (you could remove it after rooting, however :D)

I have not put a custom ROM on the phone yet. I just want to make sure I can return it to stock and be able to do all the updates since I'm due for an upgrade soon and will probabbly be giving my phone to one of my parents. I will want them to have stock stuff in case they go to at&t store for support if I'm not around.
