Root [STOCK ROM] AT&T 4.5.91 Gingerbread Flashable Zip

Now I am getting the e signature error thing so I am downloading another file and trying that

Yup, myself and others had a simular problem. One of the files from one of the sources is bad, just try another. I cant remember which siurce i used to DL a good one.

Both links have now failed on me :( are there any other sources?

And when you mean bone stock, having the two updates that ATT released is okay right? that is .3?

EDIT: Just now noticed there is a lot more links below the heap of crap on the download page. Ill try some more.

When you click on the link in the OP there are about 10 different source links, I cant remember which one I used but whichever it was worked.

Bone stock means you are running Motos official 1.8.3 that is un modified in any way.

Also, make sure that when you renamed the file you re-named it propperly. If you an using win7, when you rename the file, name it "update" the .zip tag is added automatically. Also, if you are using root explorer or something to rename and move the file, make sure to completely erase the old name and re-type "update.zip" as the file name. I was lazy and left the old .zip and just renamed the file name and it didnt work. When I fully retyped the name it worked fine.

Yes it is stock then. I am using windows seven and know to just make it update. Hopefully the link I am using now works! Thanks for all the help. Ill post up if it works or not.

My front facing camera no longer works and I also cannot find the HBO go app in the market anymore. I.have unknown sources enabled. Any ideas?

Hmm, I dont know about the FFC, i just tried mine and it seems to be working ok, maybe just try a feboot or two, sometimes that fixes funny little bugs like that.

As for the HBO app. Im not sure i have never used it. A couple thoughs tho, maybe it isnt compatible with GB yet? or maybe try getting the apk elsewere and install it manually. Did you have the app installed before the flash?

Yeah it says its not compatible and I have rebooted probably five times now. I went to reflash the update again but I can no longer get into the recovery mode hidden menu. Is that no longer available?

Meh didnt do anything, I guess I will just stick it out until the "official" release. Id post over at XDA but its a pain because I need my ten posts and they make you wait five minutes in between

You REALLY should read the XDA thread I linked...twice.. but if you havent by now, i guess you wont. Here is the section of that post containing the steps you are currently on. Written by Samcripp, all credit goes to his writting of this. This is an excerpt copy/paisted for those unable to view the origional thread:

4.a Now you can flash the update.
- turn off the phone

- turn the phone back on holding volume down

- once fastboot appears on screen press down on volume and scroll until you see "Android Recovery" as an option

- press up on the volume
4.b The Android Recovery (NOT CWM!)
- in this screen the options are hidden

- to make the options appear press on the right or left at the bottom of the screen (this make take a few tries)

- once you see the options, use the volume rocker to move to the second option
should read something like "apply update.zip from sd card" and press ok on the bottom left side of the screen

- ONCE STARTED, DO NOT INTERRUPT THE PROCESS OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE.
5. Once the phone is updated, allow it to reboot, and enjoy 4.5.91 stock!

The problem with the above is that if you already have the new version of Tenfar's port of Clockwork Recovery installed (as I do), and you access "Android Recovery" the way they're describing it, CWM Recovery is what you get, not the recovery they seem to be talking about. I don't know of a workaround for this.

You guys will be happy with the results gingerbread brings, now my Atrix actually deserves that 9 out of 10 rating engadget gave in their review.

My bootloader is unlocked, so it doesn't matter to me whether Motorola backpedals on their promise or not. I no longer care about the Galaxy S2's release date, or the new features Iphone 5 will have. My Atrix has become the beast it was meant to be from the start.

I second that. This phone, which I loved and told everyone was the best phone I've owned, has somehow gotten that much better. The new software with the phones hardware is just awesome.

The next time I'll be changing phones is when LTE is stable where I live. I figure that wont be for another year to year and a half. I just hope Motorola has an LTE phone by then for AT&T because after the Atrix, I've got full confidence in them.

For those of us on GB 2.3.4 now, when the OTA finally comes out will it be beneficial to update or wait for the next version? Also, if we unlock the bootloader would the update "lock" it back?

I'm no tech expert, but I'd guess that if you're running a "custom rom" of some sort, and have Tenfar's recently updated port of CW Recovery installed, the next OTA update will simply abort it's installation on your phone. OTA updates look for specific things on your phone - if they find things to be the way their instructions say they're supposed to be, it installs the update, otherwise it aborts the installation. The presence of a custom recovery would do the trick, preventing installation.

I believe that I saw a post on one of these forums from a member who had an unlocked bootloader and used SBF to go back to an earlier build (1.5.7, if I recall) while retaining his locked bootloader. The phone advised him that there was an update available (to 1.8.3), he accepted it and it installed like normal - so apparently the presence of an unlocked bootloader will not prevent an OTA update from occurring, but I don't know if the update re-locked his bootloader - which may not even be possible.

This is awesome. I was running stock 1.8.3 and I was not rooted. I followed the directions in steps 3-5 from xda and in 15 minutes I now have gingerbread. I really like the new look.

Thanks to all the devs who made this happen.

I tested mines just to see if it was a known bug but my front facing camera and HBOGO app both work flawlessly.
