Root Stock Rom V.B09

@money15 I'm still on stock B07 rooted of course. My phone keeps asking me to install the B09 update I believe it is. But I don't want to due to the fact that I've read that there has been some mms issues in the B09 update. So my question is can I flash your ROM even though I'm on B07 still. Or would I have to flash stock recovery, un-root, install the update, root again, flash cwm recovery(i use cwm touch) then flash your ROM? Thanks in advance man. Hope you reply as soon as possible (:

It's a backup that's already rooted so go to backup and restore in cwm and restore the file simple as that ur good to go.....and there are no issues with mms or anything else

Hey, most everything in b09 was fixed. The OTA update is fine. Same goes for money's b09 stock backup. I believe there the same stock B09 roms. The incomplete b09, mms, play store issues, etc, was released early by accident by zte via the update tool. But they fixed that too. Just so people know, the OTA update is a working b09. I don't even think there is a copy of the non working b09 lying aroud here. B09 is ALOT better then B07. Snappy. Quick.

Alright thanks man, have you ever used shinru's ROM?

sorry it took me so long to answer didnt see this....yeah i have tried it...it has awesome feature I just cant get over the way it eats up memory...this B09 is smoother and you dont have to reboot every 12 hrs or so bc of lag

hi, now when you say to update zip to deodex stock you have to flash it over top of backup , how exactly do you do that and please excuse my ignorance but im a newbie at this so would you mind giving me some steps; one last thing will this backup work on my rooted Zte since i tried to update it thru the B09 ota and failed, hopefully you can help me thanks!

First, read page one of this, very slowly, let it penetrate. What you want to do, sound's too complicated. This is simple, but people are going off half-cocked and bricking their phones, by missing simple steps.

Here's all the relevant threads to read for the Warp Sequent.
Warp Sequent - All Things Root - Android Forums

And yes this will work on your rooted Sequent. The first page has instructions for Moneys stock B09, than below that there's Superrs version, he took that, and deodexed it made it flash-able, I'm running this, and it's smooth. Either will work fine.

You ask, "you have to flash it over top of backup", I don't get what that would mean. If you want this rom, rather than what your phone has on it now, and your rooted, than, during reboot into CWM, there you would wipe cache, than delvic cache, than do a Factory/Data reset, and than install Money 15's ZTEOffic.B09.rar. or Superr's deodexed version:
warp2_unsigned_B09_Stock.zip

When your ready, " Factory/Data reset from CWM" , (that wipes your personal data), so have your apps backed up with Titanium Backup, after your up and running again, go to google play store, download Titanium, and after it's installed, you can re-load all the apps you have backed up.

Read as much as you can, than ask, than read some more, than ask, it helps to right down stuff, cause than it'll start coming clear.

Go slow, you'll get there. Good luck. :)

When he says over the top I assume he means the flashable deodexed zip I included....and yes you do flash it over the backup after u restore the backup with cwm....I don't think u can screw it up I have faith:D just read the first post...

P.s. superrs rom and my backup with the update zip will basically bring u to same place only difference is mine is completely stock. .and his has some different apps and bloatware already removed for ya

Well, I didn't know, that loading his, on top of yours, was the procedure.

Oops!

I read everything, and than chose, his version, booted, and have been running this with no issue to speak of at all.

So, whats to be gained by loading his after yours?

If you flash warp2_unsigned_B09_Stock.zip after the backup, you may as well not have used the backup as all the files in the /system partition will be wiped and overwritten.

If you want a deodexed rom, the easiest is to just flash the rom instead of the backup. If you like doing more things, you could restore the backup, then flash the deodexed zip money15 provided. either way you end up in the same place.

You don't flash superrs zip over my backup...in the first post there is an update zip that will deodex your rom for you if you are not deodexed

That was what I took away from what I read, (before I jumped from Awesome Android).

Like I said, I'm liking your version, of Moneys stock B09.

thank you for the prompt reply to all of you guys really apreciate it, now i might not have asked the question correctly but im trying my best sorry about that ,now going back to the point i kinda do understand the steps to install the B09 backup to my phone like Money posted but what im not understanding how to go about flashing the DEODEX over the Backup , you see what im saying here? do i CWD again to do that? how do i do the flashing? im kinda ignorant when it comes to these terminologies and procedures also thanks to DimBulb for your input but i wasnt talking about the Rom just trying to install the B09 backup, my confusion is on the whole DEODEXING thing right after im done with the backup just need some steps on that thats all once again i thank you guys for the help

forgot one last question when you talk about Deodex is that something that you need to do on the backup, is it necesary? it better to deodex it, is there an advantage when you do that? like i said im ignorant lol!! thanks

ok after you restore backup go into cwm again and do the following:

1. wipe cache
2. go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache
3. then go back to the main cwm screen and choose install zip from sd card
4. then find the deodex zip and install
5. now you are all set

Deodexing is supposed to make it easier to theme and to remove apps and maybe some other stuff....It's just the cool thing to do i guess lol...it is not necessary though...you will notice little difference

technically, odexed roms are faster than deodexed, but that really only applies when booting the device and it is barely/if at all noticeable. Deodexed roms allow you to remove /system apps easily, and is necessary if you will be theming your rom. If you don't want/need/care about either of those things you do not need to deodex.

thank you very much Money so ive decided to just go ahead and install the B09 backup but not the deodex since i dont need it now to be clear, to do that i just follow the steps you originally posted exactly as it is, do i have to wipe cahe, delvic cache and factory reset at some point as well? i know you didnt include those steps then but i only ask because DimBulb mentioned it before so that kinda got me confused would apreciate it if you could clarify thanks a lot bro!
