Root Stock wifi tethering working on 4.2.2 ROMs

I saw something somewhere about wifi tethering working in 4.2.2 ROMs. Alot of others couldnt get it to work. I ended up giving it a try to see if it worked using the stock tethering built into the ROM. Ended up taking a few minutes after connecting my computer to my phone, But its working. I am currently using it because my internet went out for whatever reason.

Using PACman.

Just figured Id share this. It seems you dont need any other tethering program. Just make sure your computer is set to dynamic IP and your good to go.



Edit: Just so you know.. I have NEVER paid the 15 dollars for tethering... So It isnt because of that.

Tethering is important to me. IMO, if that does not work the ROM is broken.

Same here. I dont use it often, But when I need it... I NEED IT! Lol

okay, soo, what settings do you need to have non-ad hoc tethering? i cant seem to get it to work outside of ad-hoc

Dude, I don't think that you can use infrastructure mode with the tethering app, and what do you doubt, someone answering your post from less than 12 hours ago? People around here are extremely helpful, although we do sleep on occasion.
