Stop screen turning on

This may be a stupid question.
When I put my phone in silent mode can I stop the screen from turning on when I receive a call? Is there an app to stop it turning on?

I know I could just turn the phone off but I want to keep it on.

Since you wouldn't know that there was a call, it would go to voicemail after ringing a few times (which you wouldn't hear). Put it in airplane mode. If you want wifi or Bluetooth, you should be able to enable them without disabling airplane mode. It accomplishes the same thing. First all the radios (including the phone) are turned off, then you turn on all the ones you want except the phone.

Presumably because I am not receiving calls it would not go to voicemail?
Maybe I'll just turn the phone off. It just takes a age to restart it.
