Looks like you would need to change these lines in the build.prop to match this

 # Do not try to parse ro.build.description or .fingerprint
ro.build.description=cdma_spyder-user 4.0.4 6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-31 37 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:4.0.4/6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-31/37:user/release-keys

I'm still getting the update popup on a 2.34 dinc
ver 4.08.605.2 (rooted)

Wants me to upgrade to .15

I've deleted the update zip, cleared every cache,
cleared the data in settings/apps/update, renamed
my otacerts.zip, and changed my build.prop line to:

verizon_wwe/inc/inc:2.3.4/GRJ22/389630.15:user/release-keys

any other ideas?

The OTA installation process was causing reboots. Installing the rom sidesteps the issue.
